Makes sense from Ubisoft's standpoint. It helps the new IP avoid the sorta-similar GTAV, and stops Watch Dogs also from competing with the otherwise kinda-similar Assassin's Creed IV.

I was wondering where all the media from this was anyway.

But yay, we have more adjustments to do in the Metascore League!

I wish these companies would get their acts together and not announce dates until they're 100% certain! :(

Yep, the date was all wrong to begin with. Why would they release their newest IP and biggest investment in years right next to their biggest established franchise?

Its unfortunate for those who got the console bundles.

This is actually quite serious really... they have just cut their revenue estimates by up to half a billion euros ($675m) because of these two delays.

Due to delays, Ubisoft has revised its financial targets for 2013-14 and now expects sales of between €995 million and €1.045 billion compared to the prior target of between €1.420 billion and €1.450 billion.

I would imagine someone is getting fired... hard.

Ufffff, Ubisoft may have surpassed Microsoft in the "Biggest mistake of the year award" with this one....., and it was really difficult to do that!

Wow. This news has spread like a wildfire all around the web. Twitter, facebook, gaming sites and many more. Funny part is neogaf is down. lol. It was too much for them.

So....will my sister have to cancel her PS4 preorder from gamestop that included this game?

Generation 8 Predictions so far.....(as of 9/2013)

Console that will sell most: Nintendo Wii U

Who will sell more consoles between Microsoft/SONY: SONY

This game had so much potential to excite when it was first announced. Then they "media raped" the game to death, by showing something new every week for a year!! I haven't even seen all bits of media concerning Watch Dogs, and already I feel like I've played it, and am bored with it.....AND IT HASN'T EVEN RELEASED YET!!!!!!

I think, for the end result of the game, more time means better quality in the end, but a videogame is not only quality, it's hype (as superficial as it sounds), and in that regard, ubisoft has killed it, pissing off a lot of people, that will reject the game now, because they will want to feel compensated beacuse of it, and they'll will looke elsewhere trying to forget this frustation.

True. and then some people wonder why rayman legends FW sales on wii u were less than preorders back in february.

Because the pre order figures here aren't entirel accurate, and it was multiplat. Would be my two guesses.

about the crew, how exactly was it delayed? it never had a release date so 2014 was obvious.

oh no! this means the game won't sell!

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

pre orders may not be 100% accurate but they were at 30k in february for US alone, then it sold 20k FW in US + canada. the obvious reason is because the buyers were pissed and had other stuff to buy in september.
