They need to get the system moving. they're seeing progress, much more than they were expecting.

You can feel free to still be negative if you want to. Justify it as so if next weeks sales nosedive.

Who is they?? Nintendo fans? Nintendo themselves? Because Nintendo expect 9m this FY, and some Nintendo fans expect even higher numbers.

These numbers do not resonate with either of those things. This week neded to be 200k+ for that to happen.

First of all, nobody was expect these bad sales. Secondly, next weeks sales will fall... 83k is bad sales... less than that is also bad sales.

I expect the price cut to buoy sales for a good while, but the simultaneous release of a significant exclusive makes it hard to gauge what the new "normal" is. If I had to guess I would say 55,000, though that discounts the effect of something like Wii Fit.

One thing I can say with a decent amount of confidence is it won't be 82,000.

So, a sign that there's light at the end of the tunnel? Consider that 3D World has not even come out yet and positive things may be coming.

I saw it too, amazing sales and with no new big games out, that is kinda crazy.

Um, Zelda WW HD?

Yeah, but this is a remake in HD froma gamecube game, it is not really big, right? I mean, it is a cool game, but not that big. It is like Shadow of Colossus HD on the PS3. It amazes me how little effort Nintendo have to do to sell hardware, it is quite something.

Imagine what a proper effort would help, like the new Mario or DK, or the real Zelda.

I get what ur saying and I agree but Shadow is a horrible comparison since Wind Waker outsold it 4:1. A better comparison would be a game that sold similar to WW which the God of War games did and that collection sold over 2 million.

Now that they know they were wrong, they go back to "it will only be for this week".

Nintendo and PC gamer

In context with last generation, the same week in 2007 had Wii at 192K. So Wii U still has a long way to go to actually be putting up impressive numbers. But the fact there's enough demand for Wii U that it got the boost it did is a good thing for Nintendo.

OTOH coming in at 83K suggests Xb one and especially PS4 don't have a whole lot to worry about.

Hard to believe some people can be that out-of-touch. In this industry, at this time, on that system, there's little chance the game wouldn't have caused sales to go up this month.

How much, and how long, that's up for debate, but that it would should never have been a question.

Xbox One has an audience it caters to very well, and will have a steady stream of games coming at one point, you can't say the same for WiiU with the third party situation as it is.

PS4 will rule, but Xbox One won't bomb, MS won't allow it and they're in a position to make sure it doesn't this time.

Everyone is so sure PS4 will rule ( I am aswell) but I wouldn't be entirely surprised if xbone pulls ahead in the later years due to having the Kinect which will no doubt bring in alot more casuals than the Ps4/ WiiU will.
