Physical, where possible. I like things to actually be mine when I buy them. Not to mention I want to be able to access my games in ten years or so when they decide to shut some of those servers down.

I can understand people's approach to that. Though to be fair once something is on your hard drive it is yours forever unless your hard drive dies.
Talking about consoles:
Physical! Digital for me has not a single advantage.
I can resell it.
I can collect it.
Physical has actual value
I can gift it to friends when I dont need it anymore
It costs less than the digital version most of the time.
I can still play it in 10 years (digital services can shut down)
It provides a price war (digital only PSN etc is just Sony/MS/NIntendo)
More people can keep their jobs if I buy physical because more companies are involved.
etc etc.
The only Digital advantages I could see are
If my apartment is as big as cage in a Zoo I can save space with digital games.
I can be lazy (and become fat because I dont have to stand up to swap the game disks)
But since even a small apartment can store several hundred games in a small sideboard and motion is healthy/Lazyness is stupid those two are negligible
For steam
I also prefer physical because It gives me the same advantages the digital version gives me. But when a game like DeusEx is like 3 bucks on steam I buy the game Digital (takes a huge amount of luck and time to find physical copies for 3 bucks)

The "your concerns" referred to his other answers.... obviously And of course not everyone has fast broadband. This is a personal question though, so I'm not answering for anyone else.... obviously. You may answer "retail" becasue your internet isnt fast, or because you play 9 or 10 game at once. I dont have those problems, so I didnt. |
It is just that you can come off as being a little too angry or defensive sometimes. You are very intelligent but some of the things you type can be read in a much harsher tone than what you may have intended.

Good post man. Reasons like this is why digital is not going to be taking off anytime soon. Digital is almost always more expensive when compared to physical and not just by a little! Dead Space 3 is 70 euros on PSN Vs. 20 euro physical! Also you can compare for prices with physical, but digital has only one or two places where you can buy it from.
I see myself going more and more digital. Especially on the vita, which is weird because the MC prices are outrageous but it's just so easy :)

Look at all those (lol)s in his sentences. I don't think he's angry.

I know right, every new EA game costs 70€ ... even fifa 13 still costs 70€?? Mass Effect trilogy 70€...
I don't get it.. why? -_-

If you sell it, you will need to re-buy it to play it in a few years.
But its your choice and your own habits will drive it which is fair enough. None of your concerns, concern me though. (oh and now swapping disks is good again? for fitness.... lmao)

Well sure I cant play in 10 years unless I rebuy it but in case I need money I can sell it. If I dont need money I can keep it the OPTION to do what I want is the advantage.
And rebuying is not a big deal (thanks to online shops) e.g. I bought halo 3 for 15 sold for 20 a few years later and rebought for 5 another year later :)
Swapping as in playing another game. Swapping for the same game is somewhat dumb. It does not bother me to stand up every 20 hours or so and change the game I mean I still have to leave my bed and move to the living room or have to go to the toilet so moving to the console once in a while is nothing.
