the 3d scanner looked pretty cool, along with the rustoleum paint, and the other 3d making thing
Too bad most of the people on this site who will read this can't grasp the point of the XB1. If they can't just by a games only console, they are paying for stuff they don't need. Oddly, almost 90% of the features of the XB1 are identical on the PS4. Because Sony backed out of the camera integration leading up to their launch, people act like their system is a gaming machine. Had Sony continued and included their camera, they would have been singing all the same tunes as M$ about all of the great functionality of the PS4. This will come from Sony later next year when they start going after the casual crowd. The core gamers only make up 15-20% of the game systems buyers. Sony won't skip the casuals, they were just a little smarter catering to the core group first.
Wow, good for Microsoft and Popular Science for recognizing innovation.
Get me an Xbox One and a 4K TV and I will be one happy camper.

I'd say Kinect 2.0 is more evolutionary than revolutionary, but after all Wii too, despite being a viable and affordable evolution of previous experimental tech, is nevertheless considered revolutionary. Kinect 2.0, thanks to computing power become plentiful and affordable, makes possible in real world what was previously possible in theory, but too expensive. So for both Wii and Kinect 2.0 we could say that despite NOT starting the revolution (even Wiimote is just a viable and affortable version of wand controllers initially made for PC), they ACCOMPLISH it.
About the 10 products featured in the article, I liked the most the 3D scanner and the affordable CAM mill.
Does anyone else have a pet peeve over the way "revolutionary" is chronically misused?

It would have been revolutionary if they stuck with the DRM. Their consumers would of had a revolution against them.
