Forums - Gaming - GTA 5: Rapper Wants Game Recalled Over Track Inclusion

Hope they offer him 99 cents then patch the game and tell him to fuck off.

He's a jackass because

A) he's probably lying

B) if this even went through (It won't) 20 million people would be pissed off

C) he's a nobody, R* have probably done him a favour opening his music up to 20 million people.

Daz doesnt need Rockstars money or they're exposure...how old are ya'll like 15?!??

1 classic album with the Dogg Pound
1 slept on West Coast Classic album (solo)
Classic production on Doggy Style(snoop dogg) and All Eyes On Me(2pac) and Murder Was The Case sdtk
Worked on Kurupts CERTIFIED West Coast Classic Streetz Is a Mutha
Worked with Alchemist, Xzibit, and Game as well

Sued Dr.Dre for bread
Put in work at SoSo Def for some years when Jermaine Dupri was still really popping

What the hell does HE need to give his music away for or need Cosign from Rockstar for? After that sh*t he thru with DeathRow and Dre. you think this he is giving away money??

Sorry to bother you sir, but I must inform you that your ignorance is showing. I know I'd like someone to tell me if mine was showing, so think nothing of it. Daz (the rapper in question), while not as popular as he used to be, still makes more money than most people in the U.S. through royalties, producing, features, concerts all over the west coast, and past lawsuits involving other people stealing/using his music without his consent. I personally think the two songs R* took are terrible, but that doesn't mean Daz isn't entitled to refuse their offer if he doesn't like it and demand compensation for his IPs after finding out that his music is featured on something without his consent.

Let me see if I can speak your language.

R* offered BLACK SABBATH $4.000 for the rights to publish two of their songs on GTA V. BLACK SABBATH tought the deal was a joke and refused to get heir heavy metal song published. But R* published their song anyway without their consent.

Should I call Black Sabbath a nobody and they should be grateful that they're on GTA and getting exposure?

this guy... if he doesn't need the money as some of you claim, why is he being a greedy sob then?
he probably doesn't even own his own songs but the studio does.

How is he being greedy? He refused their offer and is doing exactly what he's supposed to do in this situation. He's actually being quite lenient by not going to the courts first, so he obviously doesn't want the game recalled.

What studio are you referring to? He has his own record label and Rockstar wouldn't have went to him if there was an actual label they could purchase the song from. You think Rockstar contacted every single artist featured in the game to get permission to use their music? No, they went to whoever owned the rights, which in this case, happened to be Daz. I don't see how anyone with at least basic intelligence could see this as Rockstar being in the right on this unless they're just completely biased to the point of belligerence.

4 grand is pretty shit, i would have expected around 10k for the rights of 2 songs. but then again how often would a player even hear these songs?

I think you're fighting a losing battle, people will just be irrational.

It happens quite frequently here. If it was EA, SE, or Activision Blizzard, or not a rap artist (which I don't think is the most popular genre on this site). I think people more people would be more up in arms.

he should be able to squeeze a few quid out of rockstar if the law is on his side, also some good publicity for who ever he is,i haven't got gta V yet so haven't heard the radio songs
