Forums - Nintendo - Capcom Really considering a RE 5 Wii?

How do you get RE5 out of that?

Cuz they said that if RE: UC sold well, maybe they could bring RE 5 to wii... so..okamii is the next test?

@Claude

From Gonintendo, the info was post on capcom forums by a capcom guy

im hoping okami isnt a test for re5, but a test for a new ip or for whether theyll make a sequal to okami. something along those lines.

something really interesting and new, rather than to see if wii will get a port of re5

no it isn't
seriously what is your source for this
resident evil is a proven franchise okami is not

there will be another resident evil spin off on wii
look how many enemies capcom is fitting onto the screen
wii couldn't do that

As much as I'd like to see a version of RE5 with motion controls, Wii version won't happen...i don't know how powerful you people think wii is but capcom would have to spend a significant amount of time and resources downgrading the game to have it run on the wii. And their efforts would be rewarded with a game that looks half as good as ps3 and 360 versions. But if they decide to do it, they may as well port it on ps2, psp, nintendo DS and Sega 32X...

^lol and sega 32x. silly goose.

@PooperScooper

hey, I've been waiting for that killer app for my 32X for 12 years now...

Capcom should do some great remake of RE2 for the Wii and just let RE5 be... Don't get me wrong, I'm a great fan of the Wii and it's the only next gen console I have but RE5 on Wii just wouldn't be the same as on 360 and PS3... The fulfill the Wii's potential games have to developed exclusively...

 On the other hand some Sega 32X version should really be considered...

That didn't stop Capcom from porting RE4 to MOBILE PHONES!

Seriously, it's like people forget who Capcom is whenever RE5 Wii is brought up. This is the king of rehashes and ports. You act like RE5 is this impossible, sacred thing to touch when RE4 is currently on its 5th version. RE5 will most likely show up on the Wii as well as several other platforms for years to come. There's very little Capcom won't rehash and graphics has never been an issue.

@claude

the mobile game was barely similar to re4 at all
and the problem inst the graphics its the tech

@ClaudeLv250

This is true. I was playing my 421st version of street fighter 2 this afternoon. But keep in mind that Capcom is notorious for rehashing old games on new superior hardware but not the other way around.

To get RE5 on the wii, they would literally have to change every character's polygon count, decrease resolution to 480P, lower the amount of textures...a lot of work. The biggest issue with porting RE5 to wii (and there are many issues) is RAM. With all pistons firing Wii has 88 meg (24 video, 64 system). Thats not enough to port a first gen Xbox 360 game let alone a 3rd gen game. It would pause for load time every 8 seconds...
