Forums - Nintendo - Watch Dogs team is “Optimizing the Controls for the Beast that is the Wii U Gamepad”

Some people just won't be sold on the Wii U controller but the thing really is impressive. I've been playing Wind Waker HD with the new controls since Friday and it just works. It may end up as one of my all time favorites as more and more uses for the thing appear. Glad to see a third party developer taking development for it seriously.

Yeah. It even works so good that I don't know how I ever beat the game WITHOUT the gamepad. Pausing a game just to do something stupid like changing equipment is rage-inducing for me now. The Gamepad spoiled me :(

Definitely have high hopes for this game, need to squeeze it into my budget somehow...

They're saying they are.... But from what I know, they did a good job with ZombiU (that was them right?). This game has cost them so much they need to sell it to everyone they can

I believe Ubisoft Montpellier developed ZombiU. Rayman Legends, as well. Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Reflections are working together on Watch_Dogs, with Ubisoft Romania handling the Wii U version (presumably tasked with taking advantage of the GamePad).

You would assume/hope they would talk to each other

I'd assume so.

In other news, Ubisoft Quebec is handling the Wii U versions of Assassin's Creed, and I trust that studio (they made a good Prince of Persia game once.)

3DS Friend Code: 0645 - 5827 - 5788
WayForward Kickstarter is best kickstarter: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1236620800/shantae-half-genie-hero

I might get this if it's a high quality port.
It seems a really good fit for the Wii U Gamepad.

Seems that the game developers slowly learns how to handle the complex Wii U hardware, it is not easy to handle the CPU/GPU/Caches/eDRAM.

Watch Dogs seems to be an interesting game anyway.

Just wait until they announce missing features.

I really hope it's as good as has been promised. It does look promising.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I'm confident this game will be good on WiiU, even if we haven't seen any footage. It stays on my 'buy'-list .

Splinter Cell had no local co-op, AC4 is delayed and will miss DLC, just wait, they'll come up with some way to screw the Wii U version of Watchdogs. Then they will complain that nobody bought their gimped crap.

Is hype building for this game?

I can't wait to see what they do with the gamepad. It will give me hope that other developers take notice and support the tablet controller just as much in the future. Should pick one up holiday 2014.
