Until smash bros and Mario kart comes out, it still too early to even call out doom against the Wii-u. As for the vita, make Jak 4 vita exclusive, then you'll see consoles flying.

I want to buy a Wii U and I already have a Vita, so I hope neither is doomed.

Nope, it's been removed from shelves and Nintendo's never made a game that can sell consoles.

Your poll doesn't have an entry for "None".  I have them all and think all of them have great games on them.  Any true gamer would agree.

Well, I own both and enjoy both, although I find myself using Wii U more often. I don't think either is doomed per se, but if I had to choose between the two I would say Wii U has a brighter future, in terms of software and sales.

To put it another way: I could see Sony leaving the handheld game market after this generation; I can't imagine a scenario where Nintendo leaves the home console market.

The poll suggests that way more people like to play the doom card when it comes to the PS Vita.

This comes as a surprise, as you always hear certain people claiming that the Sony fanbase is the biggest on this website!!

Both will end up being remembered as disappointments, but IMO, only the Vita is doomed in the sense that it can kill its respective brand, that of PlayStation handhelds. The Wii U, at worst, will reach GameCube to N64 levels and keep the Nintendo in store shelves.

In my mind, Sony fans make up about 40% of this website, followed closely by Nintendo fans at 35%. The thing is, 20% or so of the site, which is a hodgepodge of Xbox fans, PC Gamers, and a couple of retro and mobile gamers, tend to team up against PlayStation fans in order to mantain the balance of power.

The remaining 5% are simply not fanboys.
