Forums - Gaming - GTA Online is kind of crappy.

I don't see the point in Deathmatches if everyone is killing each other in free roam. I actually want to use those micro-transactions just so I can get an apartment.

Three days is all the tolerance a game company as big as Rockstar deserves. This is atrocious, which is why I haven't bothered with online yet. Also, 16 players per server doesn't really seem like enough to me.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

In freeroam all anyone does is try and kill other players, they usually kill someone and then disconnect like cowards, avoiding any revenge chance from the victim. If they stay in the server is because they got 2-3 friends with them...and they still camp (because defending is a million times easier than attacking).

Meanwhile, in the actual deathmatch modes it seems impossible to get someone to join, send a million invites and nobody accepts. All too busy ruining freeroam I guess. IN fact that goes for almost everything 'job' you try and start yourself, nobody joins. Forced to rely on blind quick-matchmaking.

Races are always dumb, at the start of every race a bunch of idiots all try to ram eachother, one racer slips out ahead while all the rest are in a jam, that one person wins everytime and the idiots usually try ramming eachother still while unjamming...

Really bad design.

Passive mode....................

Useless feature, all it dos is stop them shooting you on foot.  If you get in a car, they can kill you, if you're on foot, then can run you over and kill you.  It expires every single mission you try too, failed to join or not.

Its hardly a useless feature, The map is huge its not hard to keep away from peeps. If one bothers you join another sessions. Most wont bother you and go after someone else if your i passive mode.

I also play with a crew, so nevr have any issues.

So the online is working better. I can get into missions or races without fail, but really, the online is just shitty.

Some deathmatches are alright, but today I've played one death match just before quitting that was 1-8 players so is considered medium sized, left all settings as default, yet at the start when spawning, everyone was 2-3 blocks away and every time you die the game spawns you three blocks away from where everyone else is at.

When playing a match sometimes you get a group of people who don't quit after every game. Rarely. Very very very very very rarely do you get people who actually keep playing and vote on another event, so you have to wait for more people to join. Great.

Also when joining jobs and such, there are quite a few different areas to have a race or have a deathmatch so it spreads the players way too thin. Probably every other game you'll get in a match with a good amount of people. If you're the host, the only way to get people to join is either invite friends or click on the send invite to same skilled players which only sometimes gets people to join by the time the two minute wait runs out.

If you ask me, they should have made it like Call of Duty matchmaking. Allow people to join up in prelobby, and then everyone auto join the same lobby together. Give no choice between starting your own lobby with less players. Choose death match, the game auto searches for how many people in your lobby and how many lobbies have less than 16 players. Choose race? Same thing but only do the eight player races if you have eight or less people in the lobby at the time and don't allow for anyone to join mid game.

The supposed 500+ missions that Rockstar touted? Bullshit. Other than the three text missions, the missions I've played were nothing more than different styles of death matches, or cops and robbers. Again, that should be just like Call of Duty. When you try to go to one in the clip on the Call of Duty games, it teams you up with any room that's missing a player or players. It attempts to keep all rooms at the max amount of players so the game more enjoyable.

So yeah. My opinion about Grand Theft Auto online is that, it's shit, because today it was pretty bad and it worked perfectly. The content is shit. The match making is shit. Rockstar sold us on shit and it didn't even work for a good four days. If I was to give the online a score based on it working well it'd be a 3/10 and that's because the racing when playing online was the only decent part about it.

I'm a big rockstar fan,but I agree with every single word you've said. Rockstar always makes great single player games in my opinion, but there multiplayer modes have always been hit and miss in my opinion.
