It´s really sad people deluting themselves thiking the next generation will be defined for slight graphical advantages between two hadware.
Even the worst case scenario of 50% more is nothing when we think of what happened with :
Xbox vs PS2 - 300% + advantage for the prior
Wii vs PS360 - 500% diference
DS vs PSP - ???
3DS vs Vita - ???
Apple dosen´t designe the iPhone to play games but they move more money than Vita + 3DS games. Game experience is not just pixels at the screen.
The PS4 is not a single porpuse machine, The Xbox One is a very capable game machine either. The things I have seen here and NeoGaf make me think that there are people who belive Microsoft is made of a bunch of idiots and Sony of genious.
Hell, the PS3 was a $600 beast with few games, worst multplat ports and a shit online experience for almost half of the generation. And still sold in a faster rate than the Xbox.
And the Xbox suffered from a hasty development resulting in astronomical hardware fail rate.
Why people belive that just one of them would lern from the past, and only one is making new mistakes now?

The op had a much better point than in this thread, but it was still torn apart and not taken seriously by 99% of the responders.

I had to laugh at how fanboys look at Microsoft, they really are the lowest company in tech. It did make me think though Imagine if both Microsoft and Sony after years of development came out with a system that was exactly the same? That would be fun because then it would be down to the cosmetics and Sony would win straight away

LOL at the lowest company in tech.... MS is the behemoth of R&D out there, by miles over Sony, and even apple or google.... but yeah they suck at tech, you're the one that makes me laugh...
Sony beside cosmetic is one of the shittiest hardware company out there for main stream goods..... unless you go in very high end product lines (TV) and semi-pro to pro product (cameras, and film equipment)... their consumer goods are terrible and way overpriced for what they are.... they do like apple does, pack you a regular product at a premium just for a debatable better design.... when you can usualy find way better at a cheaper price elsewhere.... granted looks is not what you expect from a TECH product...
EDIT: the PS4 is one of their most decent equipment over all... well executed and well priced from an hardware stand point... the rest I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole beside their high DSLR maybe or their high end TV if I had the cash to sink and the use for it....
