27mill wow. Didn't expect the budget to be quite that high.
Do you know what the budget was of Heavy Rain?

It's a niche, yet growing sty;le of gaming (at least on consol;e, there's an abundance of similar titles on PC). It won't quite do HR numbers in the end (should launch as good or better, though), but I can see it reaching a modest 1.5-2million. |
what are some similar titles on pc then just as a sounder
yes 2million would be a success i think
I'm torn if I like the demo and this game gets good reviews its gonna be very hard for not to pick it up. I really liked the story of Heavy Rain and think this game looks really cool.
i am on the fence about beyond, cause i thought the demo was rough in gameplay and the balance need some fine tuning. i think the game should be delayed a few months to iron out the rough edges and release it early next year, either way i might pick it up, when it hits the $20 or so price.

Delaying it that long would probably hurt overall sales they can alway patch any major problems the game has with updates.

It's that kind of thinking that has gaming where it is today. It's become common among devs to release an unfinished game and then patch it after to release to fix any issues. I'd rather have the game complete and not require any sort of patch to fix any problems.

That's why there's a demo, which has received very good feedback. |
Besides, 300-400k FW is actually good sales

Going by the reviews of the demo it looks like the game has no major problems it plays more or less like Heavy Rain so there is no point in delaying the game any issues can be resolved with patches only games with major issues should be delayed.

Some of my favorite movies and games have average or mediocre review ratings, and some of the highest rated stuff I find to be total crap. Whatever happened to just giving things a chance if they look interesting/appealing to YOU? |
I couldn't have said it better myself. More people need to go with their gut. If a game looks fun/interesting, get it. Sometime you will be let down, most times you won't. You know what you like. You know what you find enjoyeable. Don't let some "review" tell you what you do and don't like. GTA got rave reviews, but I don't care for the genre....didn't buy it. It may be the hottest game out right now "grossing a billion in sales in just 3 days"....but it ain't for me. Nier for the PS3, horrible reviews, terrible graphics, one of my fav games this gen. Spent 100+ hours with it.
Trust your gut, not a review score.
I'm buying regardless of scores. I loved Heavy Rain and this game is supposed to be similiar, so it's a no-brainer for me at least.
Just hopes that the scores aren't really bad.
