Counting all platforms together, it easily outsold JD1. And the Wii-version of JD4 alone is pretty close to JD1. Given, JD1 wasn't multiplat. But that works both way - you could also argue it sold worse on Wii, because some of it's former players bought the game on X360, PS3 or WiiU.

that doesnt make it look good. JD4 needed to be on MULTIPLE platforms to beat out the original entry that was released on ONE? naw thats not good. Even if you do that it still sold less than JD3, across the board even with the extra WII u SKU. If thats not a decline i dont know what is. I dont see JD 2014 doing better it might be overshadowed by PS4 and xbone release and even those are getting their own versions but i dont see them doing great on those systems.

Yes, I can agree with that. JD had it best sales so far with JD2 and JD3 and 2014 will probably decline further (increasing sales on WiiU, PS4 and XBO will not make up on the losses on Wii, PS3 and X360). But 6,6 million is not that bad and the series is not yet dying. If that would be the case, Final Fantasy would be long dead. But Ubisoft sure has to do something to keep the series going.

Anyways, I was answering Pezus who was assuming the series is moving over to XBOX and/or PS. That is something I cannot see happen.

never said those were bad sales, i just said the series is on a decline. THats how it is for pretty much every annual series minus sports games(and even those sometimes) I dont really see it doing all that much better on WIi U either. Unless they just stop making Wii versions and even then the game will sell best on the system with the next biggest install base (gonna say 360 just cause kinect is more popular than Move) I think the series best days are gonna be behind it. Hell i dont see Ubi dropping Wii versions anytime soon especially after WIi U sales of the game (sold less than PS3 version). But ironincally keeping the Wii version alive is going to prevent it from taking a foot hold anywhere else...maybe. Ubi's not gonna risk it they are not about that life.

The bolded suggests you are not.

Do you mean the 3DS? I'm obviously only talking about Nintendo home console games and Wii U owners. 3DS owners can hold their heads high, as they get Nintendo games and can look down on day one patches.

I was referring to your previous conversation with Rol I believe, in which Rol stated that nintendo gamers are accustomed to a certain standard of quality. Then you stated that low quality standards are no longer beneath us (I assume you meant fans of nintendo games) because of the wiiU. So I sort to prove you wrong by referring you to the sales of the wiiU which shows most are not accepting it.

Whew, I think I have already typed too much in a redundant thread.

I really meant Wii U owners, sorry if that wasn't clear. If you check out the last page I do mention the Nintendo gamers without a Wii U can still have high standards, but that isn't really relevant when talking about patches for Wii U games.

Do you think Nintendo fans are passing on the console right now because of the hardware itself? I kind of assumed that it was the lack of games, but you could be right. Are you going to skip the Wii U? I considered it, but I'm not sure I could miss out on a gen of Nintendo games so I caved. But if not buying it guaranteed their next console would be better I would do it.

People and not just nintendo fans are passing on the console for a number of reasons, hardware (not the power of the console but rather the idea behind it), price, lack of games, lack of marketing etc.

I see no reason to get a wiiU until very late 2014 and that's only if my hype for X still holds by then (see it is not only for rayman people will be disenchanted if a game takes too long to come). Other than that if nintendo continues their usual trend of backwards compatible consoles I could just hold out till their new console  arrives and get whatever games I might have been interested in for wiiU.

Lol the first arguement I had on this forum was about Little Big Planet and those floaty mechanics and the online lag.

It's still gimping to give one version of a game unequal treatment. They treat Wii U owners like second classs citizens and then wonder why their games don't sell to Nintendo gamers.

Batman will be $10 cheaper on WiiU though. Let's see if that neutralizes the gimping.

not in aus. ontop of that, we don't get the two special editions so why woudl I buy it on Wii U when I can get the nice cool limited edition on PS3.

you wouldnt.

but i have a general question. If someone has a PS3 or 360 even, why complain. they already have access to the version they want. The only people who should be complaining are Wii u owners outside the US who want to play Batman and judgint by the sales id say aint a lot of them

Well the first one did some neat little things with the gamepad.  So it would come down to those features or the PS360 version. However when you can tell the publisher isn't even trying with their release packages and/or it is missing online (personally I don't care) it just is doomed to failure from the start as a lot of those one console owners take things way too personally.

Rayman Legends is a good example of this, the delay killed the game. Ubisoft become the enemy of the Nintendo core for that mess. Most of them didn't stop to think, well hang on in return Ubisoft annouced, splinter cell, ACIV and Watch Dogs. To me a short delay is a fair trade off for getting decent support on your system of choice.

Once Ubisosft ends WIi U support people without a doubt will group them with EA lol.

yes but how much one console owners are there? hell how much one console owners have just a WIi U? id bet that be a small number. Much smaller than any other console on the market.

i dont agree that Rayman Legends is a good example becaue i dont buy that it was going to do all that hot had it been released in Feb. I think some people are really overselling how much it was actually going to do. it probably would have debuted with the same numbers (wii U version and a little more) that would have been far from good.

Because I'd rather play them with what I deem a far more interesting controller.

then buy it for WIi U. And if there is not WIi U version buy it for the console that you already have. Thats the point of being a multiconsole owner. Wait... you dont have a Wii U you really dont have room to talk

I'm getting one very soon. I hav already bought Need for Speed Most Wanted U.

If third parties try to make me choose between a fully featured version and a version with more interesting controls, I'm more likely to just tell 'em to get stuffed and spend my money on something else.

i didnt experience too much online lag. but it was patched to hell. sequel worked much better. as for floatly mechanics thats the way the game plays, has nothing to do with the online

well. whatever floats your boat. I personally think its silly to get worked up over a console(and buy games ) for said console you dont even own. Especially if you already have a console thats going to get most of the games anyway and if it doesnt you still dont miss anything.

As a consumer I vote with my wallet for what I want. Companies have to earn my money. I can always get games I don't want to support cheaply second hand down the track and still enjoy them. A wait won't kill me.
