Forums - Nintendo - The R Button On My 3DS, It Fails Me Now! <(T_T<)

Agith! A horrible happening has occurred just a moment ago in the middle of intense Mario Kart action! Only a year after purchase, the right shoulder button on me 3DS has decided to start screwing up. It no longer recognizes when I press it, atleast not consistently, and even when I'm holding it down, it'll eventually think I've let up on the button when I actually haven't. As you can imagine, that blows extremely hard for me as it makes Mario Kart 7 virtually unplayable. Not being able to play MK7... now that's true pain right there! D:

Interesting enough I had a similar issue with my DS Lite, though it was with the not as important L button, and that was long after I got the system, by which time I was mainly playing slower paced strategy games so it didn't matter. This current issue however matters a lot though, so looks like I'm gonna have to go about getting it fixed tomorrow. =/

That's honestly surprising. I've had some squishy buttons, but generally the Nintendo stuff holds up awesomely. Not sure what you would do about that...

This happened to my L button months ago. It's funny you mentioned blowing really hard, because that's how I deal with the situation.

Put your mouth around the R button and blow into it. Don't spit in it. It's easiest to do this while the system is closed. It won't "fix" the button, but it'll make it more responsive for a while, usually for a full play session.

Hmm, I shall have to try that. Thanks for the tip! Probably still gonna have to send it in though. =/

Hmm, I shall have to try that. Thanks for the tip! Probably still gonna have to send it in though. =/

No problem. I'll probably send mine in if it gets worse, but it's actually been better lately. Good enough to play Monster Hunter and Kid Icarus.
