This game has some serious, far reaching appeal.

Just about everybody i know is atleast aware of the game and thinking about buying it. Even the guys who just buy Fifa once a year (yeah those idiots). Hell even people who dont play games much at all might end up buying it.

it hasn't even been through the holiday surge yet :)  this is why consoles and big games should release in September and October to get a big surge with launch then still have enough mindshare and be in the news close enough to Christmas to get a big surge then too.

Also PS3 and 360 a LOT closer than preorders would have you believe. Didn't GTA4 only do 10m on each lifetime? This game is gonna reach that in a couple weeks.

Wow Gta V is a beast!

I don't think so, with hype so huge, I think GTA 5 will be incredibly frontloaded. Similar to what happened to Pokemon Black and White. I'd guess under 26mil by the end of the year, considering nextgen consoles will steal the show November and December. Though it should end up being the best selling game on ps3/360 and I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being the best selling console game this generation.

Between this, Assassin's Creed 4, Batman: Arkham Origins, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Beyond: Two Souls, Gran Turismo 6, Ratchett and Clank, Battlefield 4, Watch Dogs, NBA 2K14, FIFA 14, Skylanders 3, Just Dance 2014, and South Park, why would any typical PS360 owner upgrade this holiday season?
