Forums - Gaming - Inafune, Mighty No 9 creator, fears lawsuit from Capcom

Sigh op, misleading title. You just made it sounds like the lawsuit is underway.
I don't think Capcom will sue, they have nothing to gain from it infact, they'll lose a lot of goodwill if they sue.

Title says "under risk of attack".  If it were "under attack" that would of meant the lawsuit would be under way.

Not surprising that Capcom could sue as they could use the money. But they could just.....you know.....make a Mega-man game. And besides, they'd probably lose even more money as a result.

Generation 8 Predictions so far.....(as of 9/2013)

Console that will sell most: Nintendo Wii U

Who will sell more consoles between Microsoft/SONY: SONY

I have edited the thread's title in order for it to reflect the actual content of the article.

Signature goes here!

It would'nt surprise me if they did.

I think nothing will happen.

Sony confirmed $900k for the project hours ago at Eurogamer Expo... Vita/PS4/Xbone/3DS versions confirmed.

Capcom: let's sue the one doing what we are suposed to do but refuse to.

If this were case for a lawsuit, so would Mind-0 be for Persona.

either way, I think it's a lost cause if capcom tries the lawsuit. for example: mario defined the platform genre but that doesn't mean any game where a character jumps on enemies and goes from point A to B is a copy that can be sued. there are two factors that allow a company to sue another for plagiarism:

1- Art style/sprites that are basically copy pastes with a few changes.

2- copy of level design, as in: a game that looks different but plays the same, with platforms, enemies and whatever located on the same place of the copied game's level design.

Mighty no 9 isn't doing neither of those.

I'm sure they'll try. I don't think they'll succeed.

I doubt they'll even try in the first place.
