It's the sequel to Puzzle and Dragons which was downloaded for free 13 million times in Japan alone.

It could be hugely successful. But first of all, many people download the game more than once (they're "re-rolling"), and don't expect 10 million or more people who played a free game on their phone to go out and buy a $130+ console and a $40 game to play a sequel, when the original is still being supported. 1 million? Very likely. How much more than that? We'll see.

The point is they made a shit ton of revenue off it^ They were making more money than Nintendo did in that year.

That is very true. I'm very interested to see how this sells on 3DS, whether the mobile market will buy a handheld for this game or whether most of the PAD players who would do so already own a 3DS.

the 3ds sequel version is pretty much a free to play game, but with all the pay features, making it not a free to play game. If that makes sense lol
