Is it sold or shipped? Either way, they must have shipped a ridiculous amount to retail, I was at saturn yesterday and they still had about 30 copies of the PS3 version on shelf, even after the first week rush. Didn't check the Xbox shelf but I wouldn't be surprised if the first shipment was 25 million units or more.

This may beat Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas's record for best-selling Grand Theft Auto of all-time...all platforms combined, that is.

I don't know if it'll ever beat the single platform numbers GTA: SA did for the PS2 (when it was once exclusive before an XBox version was made the next year).
That number is according to VGChartz's Game Database 20.81 million for the PS2.

For the XBox the number sold was 1.95 million.
For the PC the number sold was 0.86 million.

Put that all together & you got 23.62 million all platforms combined.

Remember, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the best non-Nintendo seller of all time.
In VGChartz 'single platform by single platform' game database that title comes in at #16 with the PS2 version.

If Grand Theft Auto V can top this, Rockstar will have something else to be really proud of.

Rockstar follows Nintendo's model in making sure the game is RIGHT before you release it.
That's why they have Nintendo-like sales on their games. More companies should follow that example.
