XBO's "cloud computing' is nothing more than Microsoft's Azure server hosting infrastructure being leveraged to support online multiplayer sessions. That's not a bad thing, by the way, but it is NOT (I repeat) NOT some magical way to offload graphics and compute processing to the 'cloud'. There is absolutely no way given current or near-future Internet bandwidth speeds to get anywhere close to real-time for graphics or compute processing. Anyone who thinks plugging their XBox One into the 'cloud' is going to magically give them 3x/4x graphical and compute processing power is either delusional or willfully ignorant. Take your pick.

Wait tell google fiber comes around. lOL

10 years from now Google fiber, on it's best day, will still be several orders of magnitude slower than the RAM that was in your Pentium II computer from 1994.  You think that RAM would handle the read/write performance needed for graphics processing, or even basic CPU offloading?  Keep dreaming.   (unless you were just joking and I missed it )

It was a joke dude, chilll out.

Sorry, like I thought, I missed it   Peace.

EPIC THREAD.

Just to start... huh huh... Cloud =/= Local by definition... you need a server to be called Cloud... well you can have a server running in your localhost but well only devs use that for test purpose to simulate a client-server enviropment.

localhost isn't a server.  It's a TCP/IP thing.  127.0.0.1 is a loopback address for the TCP/IP stack.  So anyone with some intelligence, can test their IP stack.

I know... I said you can install a server in your localhost to make tests... like I can install a game and a Cloud server in my machine and make my game use my server via locahost.

What the guy is saying that Xbone was a local cloud server than can be acesse by the Game OS... so like you accesing a server via localhost in your machine.

Yeah pretty crazy talk. Unfortunately there will be some people on the net who will be lapping this stuff up and saying that the machine is even more powerful because its running a server in the device.... or something as stupid.

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

I was wondering when this week's FIRST (earlier today by Kirby)secret sauce article would be posted. Then, I was wondering how many comments in this particular thread before we had our first definitive "expert" debunking (6 posts to ethomaz). And then I wondered how many posts before the next "expert"(15 posts from OP to ratchet) proclaimed you have to be ignorant or delusional to even consider the idea of the OP. Lucky for us, the very first post was really enough for us all ... "New secret sauce?"(by Euphoria) to know what was coming next.

Don't know exactly what you are saying. Are you saying Misterx is correct? Or are you saying we shouldn't say anything because obviously we are just trolling another positive Xbox post even though it was posted as a joke and is pure garbage? Or are you saying you are not knowledgeable enough on the subject of local clouds in your area to know why this is pure garbage?

Please explain.

I know, my post was badass.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

This shyt is getting ridiculous. I like how this guy managed to make a fuss out of completely stupid theories. Is it some kind of a prank?

Ex Graphics Whore.

Combined with the dGPU, wouldn't that actually be like 10 teraflops locally?

That delusional guy gives xbox fans a bad name lol.
