Forums - Gaming - Are you an EXPERT or is that an OPINION?

Unfortunately some opinions that are formed are based on manufactures PR speak and people believe it that when people come along with any considered opinion, some people will refute it. The cloud being one such subject matter.

Is the cloud going to help computing (it already is as the cloud is nothing new)....Yes no doubt. Will it be this console gen.. most likely not. That is indeed an opinion but its a considered opinion based on facts that are available. If you are saying that someone with knowledge of such tech has no validity over someone who has no knowledge who is just listening to PR speak, I don't think that is fair.

Can people with knowledge of such things be wrong, yeah of course, but when lots of people say the same thing and there are many with skills you have to start thinking that your opinion based on PR talk might be wrong.

Just look at the original Kinect stuff. The PR videos of that are laughable now. No way can it do lots of the things they said it was going to do. Don't get me wrong it's PR's job to get people excited about such tech, but they are not trueful in what they are saying most of the time, and only gloss over issues/concerns.

So what I am saying is most that people say is opinion, but knowledgable opinion is better than an opinion just based on what you've read in a PR statement.

Sometimes I think people just get upset because their favourite piece of tech isnt as good as they thought it was, or they are somehow being attacked for liking it. It's not that, it's the fact that people are so believing of what they are told by companies... that when something is obviously a problem, people are defending it to the hilt without knowing anything about why they are defending it.

Actually, in all seriousness, it's not always black and white either.  Many times it is situational... Granted, your example is an extreme.  There are industry experts that will agrue one architecture over another, how to do certain things, etc.  Happens within big companies all the time.

Meh. It's all gossip, don't take it close to heart. People just love proving others wrong and being right. Why else be in a forum?

On the XB1/PS4 specs topic: none of us, as far as we know, designed those hardwares. So none of us are right or wrong. Everyone is just trying to stroke a mark in the win column for their day. 



All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Etc, Etc, Etc....  Does that mean that you don't have knowledge in these other areas?  No, but you are not an expert.

I quite enjoy reading the various opinions related to the tech in each of the consoles.  What I find rather boring is the "Not this again" comments that have to be added to the mix.  And then when someone doesn't take the bait, the next thing is to pick a point and say "it's not possible".  Then, the next thing is to say that even if it's possible, it won't make the XB1 as powerful as the PS4.  And then the next thing is "well, the PS4 can do that too". 

The point of my post is really simple.  If you really don't want to read another post regarding mystical power of the XB1, then don't.  If you disagree with a point related to a post, then state your opinion as just that, not fact.  I think that pretty much everyone knows that the PS4 IS MORE POWERFUL THAN THE XB1.  The real question is why can't anyone have an OPINION that is different than yours.

It seems like you want to speculate on things you know nothing about and simply would rather live in fantasy land than reality. Then when someone comes by and slings their big gulp of expertise you get angry because facts contradict your opinion and spoil your fun.

i must admit this is fairly common on earth. It's very unfortunate.

I learned my lesson.

Some people believes in unicorns and I'm fine with that but I need to left clear in the thread that unicorns not exists for the sake of the sanity in VGC... or do you prefer to become a MisterXmedia blog journal lol.

Everytime somebody try to create a mutation in computacional logic (that didn't changed in the last 30 years or more) we will to put rationality in the people's heads.
