I'd say around 8.

Just remember life cycle is much longer than "time till successor releases"

Ya but Nintendo consoles don't last long after theur successor comes out, I mean just look at the Wii.  Support for that died off before the Wii U even came out.

but its still selling like ps2 was. It might have 2%-4% support but its still something, look at Wii Sales, they are doing pretty good in US for something thats dead

Wanna bet it last longer than that?

Around the Network

5 years, so, next console will be released at 2017, and keep in market till 2023.
ps360 will receive new titles until 2016, so, wii U will still compete with 7 generation, and the wii U sucessor will compete in 8 gen.

I don't see PS3 or 360 being supported that long, they might get a couple titles in NA and Europe, like some sports games, and some in Japan, but I don't see it being anything major.

Nintendo's next home console launches no sooner than 2017. That's 5 years between consoles, normal for Nintendo.

5-6 years

4-5 years. Announced in 2016 and released in 2017 at latest.
