Looks good, but for me, if there's no physical copy, then there's no buy.

Surely you don't say the same for other digital games like Limbo ect?
They're actually right not to have a physical copy, there just isn't enough content.

I have never played Limbo before. I'm a person that only buys physical copies.

Well, the take away I got from that was, over the years in an effort to one-up each other, the mechanics of the games got more and more difficult. Killer Instincts is more open and accessible because of the more simplied mechanics of the game. Making the game fun and enjoyable. Rather than a chore to learn, play, and master. |
Other than Akira in Virtua Fighter (I will master him one day), I never found the mechanics in fighting games to be all that difficult, especially nowadays. Maybe fighting games just isn't for him. Or he should play games like Naruto and Super Smash Brothers.

I didn't get "dumbed down" at all. I got accessible mechanics and a better visual design that makes it apparent you're doing something right. Probably the more zoomed in look of the fighters and emphasis on combos. Basically saying it is more open to newcomers. Doesn't mean it's dumbed down at all. I think MvC3 is open to newcomers. But a skilled person will still mop the floor with them.
It's a good thing when developers pull off the difficult task of making a game accessible and easy to pick up and play, but still deep enough that hardcore players will remain engaged. We'll see if they can pull it off.

MvC3 isn't the best example of accessibility meeting skill since it's a contest of who can spam the most (There's even an Easy Mode where you don't have to actually learn the move motions to use them), but I see what you're saying. Maybe, they'll pull off a solid fighter, but I'm not betting on it.

Wow. Previews for this game are amazing.
Microsoft have an amazing launch. Killer instinct getting awesome reviews and forza ( apart from japanese saddos) also getting glowing reviews.
Xbox one has possibly rhe best launch variety ever. And the games are getting lots and lots of praise.
Dead rising 3, killer instinct and forza 5 all have high high praise. Then therez project spark and to. All high praise.

Even the creators of Street Fighter IV said that things got too complicated prior to that game. They simplified the game and still added tons of stuff but they did make the game more accessible. A person who's great in Street Fighter IV would likely get their ass handed to them by a Street Fighter III player. The game was good but only those that spent hours upon hours training could have any fun. It's like Burnout or Need For Speed vs. Gran Turismo and Forza. There are gamers that just want to have fun!
Well that is good to hear. I will look forward to checking that out.
