Well, I know for sure that it'll at least sell 1 copy this year! I already have a 3DS, so I won't get another one, but I really do hope that it'll sell well. I'm a Sony fan for consoles, and a Nintendo fan for handhelds (which may seem like I'm a bandwagoner, because Sony sold the most home consoles and Nintendo sold the most handhelds, but that's my honest opinion!)

Well 3DS sold 7.5m from week ending Sept 8-the end of the year, the only major game worldwide was Paper Mario and Japan had Animal Crossing.

This year 3DS has a redesign that cuts the cost by $40, Pokemon, Zelda, Mario Party and Japan has Monster Hunter. All that means there is a strong chance for a strong YoY boost.

It sounds plausible.

Sony is a great Console maker thats why, nintendo rules handheld and i think they focus on it much more, usally 60% on handhelds per gen imo, this gen its more like 95% lol

Many.  What you're saying applies to almost any console.  If a new game sells 500k FW, I doubt that the system will sell an additional 300k or more.  Since there are MILLIONS of Pokemon fans, I think it is safe to say that world wide sales of the 3DS will at least see a 3x increase from the week prior.

I'm saying at least 3x, and also we don't know if weekly sales will be stronger the week prior to Pokemon's release than normal.  I personally think that, if the game is a real hit as well as the 2DS, we could see 2m hardware sales WW 7 days into Pokemon's release (in those 7 days).

I personally know three people who were big DS players, and who had almost no interest in the 3DS until the announcement of X and Y.  They're planning on buying 3DS' when the games are released.  Even more friends who will likely do the same and just haven't been as vocal about it.

There are TONS of Pokemon fans who haven't made the move yet.  Those game are going to move massive units.

That's another 9m this year which is a decent increase over last year while that seems doable due to the big games coming out. Also, the 2DS. It's a wildcard, and it could push the 3DS even higher. Maybe tbone's initial prediction will be correct afterall .
