Forums - Microsoft - TGS: Three Reasons Why Dead Rising 3 Won Me Over

Cool preview, but this is just Microsoft's Zombi U. I dont feel like it'll be a console pusher or sell that well. 1 mill lifetime, imo.

I doubt that Dead Rising will every be a console pusher but from what I have seen from the TGS videos, it looks fun.  I am having fun playing DR 2 and 3 seems to take some of the fustration out of the game add a little grittyness to it and still keep the fun.

I haven't preordered this...yet.

The co-op stuff is intriguing and I think extending the game onto a phone and having the game "call" me sounds neat.

I would rather have this game over DeepDown these days after its ugly truth of being condemned to be F2P.

In the 2nd vid, he says "exclusive content". What was the point in saying that if the whole game was already exclusive? Could it be that another specific console version is coming? I think so ;)

Chances are its referring to the smart glass content

I hated the first two games. Awful controls, cheap bosses, no autosave, 3 save spots, pointless clocks on everything you do, nothing in the game was fun for me. I did hear most of these problems have been fixed in the new installment, so I shall approach with caution.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Because they like glitches, bad animations, weak textures and texture popping up too late?

Things that will likely be fixed.  I didnt realise it was just powerful graphics that count toward being a great game....?

That has been known since the new KillZone has been shown. No one gave a shit about that franchise, but it looks pretty now so it is amazing.

A guy with Nintendo all over him makes a negative comment about Xbox and you decide it's time to make a shitty comment about a Playstation game? Awesome. "No one gave a shit about that franchise".... yeah, because nearly 6 million copies sold across two games is clearly an indication that no one gives a shit about it. Shall I give you a list of Xbox games that sold less than either Killzone 2 or Killzone 3 and watch you rationalize why the games I listed are awesome and people give a shit about them? How about the huge number of third-party games that came nowhere close to selling as many titles as either PS3 Killzone game that you probably just love yourself? Visuals are nothing... except when it's Forza, Ryse, and Quantum Break, right? The last of which we know little about but hey it's an exclusive so surely it will be fantastic. Right? Because it's made by Remedy, who did Alan Wake. You know... that game that so many people point to as to why Quantum Break will do so well? No? Oh that's right. The game only sold a little over a million copies on the 360 so obviously no one gave a shit about it. So when Quantum Break is around the corner I'll remind you that you shouldn't give a shit.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe a lot of people think Killzone: Shadow Fall looks awesome.... because they actually think it looks awesome? Not just because it's pretty? Because they like the new direction the game is taking compared to the previous entries? Because the multiplayer doesn't look as sluggish as the previous games? Just to remind you, Killzone 2 was considered by many to be the best looking console game of its time and Killzone 3 was almost as impressive for its time. That means that people are not actually surprised that this new Killzone looks fantastic. Killzone has always pushed the console it was on. So if the franchise has always been a looker and yet there is more buzz around this title than any previous entries, that might just tell you that there is more to why they like it than looks.

That being said, I think Dead Rising 3 looks like it will be fun.

According to crazy buttocks it's a permanent exclusive. Which kind of makes sense because it looks like Microsoft is acting more like an actual publisher here and Capcom is only slapping its logo on the box.

MS made a smart move by choosing DR3 over DeepDown. I originally thought that Sony Had tge better deal. I thought Deep Down was going to be a bigger Demons souls at retail that would push some weight in japan but noooOOOoo.

.. Just gotta take this L(loss) and deal with it

Oh, defenitely. DR2 was a lot of funs but the flaws were just silly. I like that the timed rescue missions are optional in this one, no load times (the load times were pretty bad in DR2, even the digital/installed version). I haven't heard much on cheap bosses/save issues but with all the things they are fixing I'm sure this will be great. Defenitely a launch title that I've pre-ordered. Actually looking to get all the XB1 launch exclusives as it is right now none seem questionable outside of Ryse imho.

It's just that simple.

While I'm glad I'm having DR3, I think you shouldn't downplay Deep Down before playing it. Who knows, it may turn awesome. Doubtful, but hey. There's always faith.

already a fan, hope it comes my way eventually
