My god you keep beating that drum don't you? Everyone knows Sony shipped 1 million consoles to North America first week, MS shipped the same to 13 countries first week. It does not mean that MS did worse than Sony, it means that they decided to take a straight forward approach rather than delay a WW launch for less traffic issues and more time to manufacture. |
If we look only at the numbers then you are right. But if we are looking at the whole story, it does not look to good for MS right now. Sony did well launching in Nort America one week before MS. And MS counter attack by going out 1 week earlier in Europe and in 13 countries. Microsoft targeted their best countries, while Sony focused it's launch on where it was being destroyed by the Xbox360. Sony's launch in the US was bigger than MS in the US. Even if numbers were 50-50 that would have been good news for Sony. But MS did say they are breaking even or minimal lost which is good for them while Sony requires one game and a Plus membership to start making money is the US, but breaking even in EU. Both console had phenomenal launch. So far Sony is winning, has price advantage, and launching at the same time than Xbox One. That is going to be an interesting battle to see.
