Forums - Gaming - Enough on GTA 5 controversies and Call of Duty hype. I am sticking with Pacman!

I think it is overrated... I have only played Vice City and San Andreas, I personally don't understand the hype but that is just me.

After all, Pacman is THE best game ever made.

Not saying that I won't be getting GTAV though, that IP was always about stupid fun for me, so no chance I'm skipping it. As for other, more "serious" stuff in it, I couldn't care less.

How dare people question the value of GTA. Damn people we are in front of gaming's citizen kane moment.

Didn't the Last of Us get the "Ctizen Kane" accolade? LOL

With the videogame side, it seems like any competently put together game with decent story, acting and so on, if it is on the serious side (and not an action flick style game like Uncharted) it will get compared by someone to "Citizen Kane".  There is this hope that games can break through and be taken more seriously.

The Last of Us in terms of storytelling is definitely a pivotal game in videogame history. It is also one of the few games in gamer history that is pivotal in creating a strong female protagonist with a, whom displays great overall character and ability and is raised to become great. It put even Heavy Rain to shame which depends upon dramatic scenes. If you like The Last of Us somewhat, I would implore you to look at the movie The Road if you have Netflix. Theres no theres no infected human beings infesting the earth, but a very similar premise. I think this four star underrated flick was the major influence for the game.

Great. I had successfully blocked the trailer for the new Pac-Man from my mind :/

Pac-Man Dash looks pretty fun, you know.

And yeah, people are nuts. Got to learn to just roll with it or it'll ruin your life, whether you try to retreat or not.

A dark side of people want to do criminal mayhem, so that open world stuff was appealing.  Then Rockstar decided the game needed to be more serious and make a point, so they do decent writing and acting apparently, and the reviewers eat it up as groundbreaking.  Individuals who play a LOT of games for a living end up eating up stuff like GTA.  GTA4 fell into this also, by sucking reviewers in.  So, do decent production value, long play, lots of content, and decent writing, and reviewers go nuts over it.

You get stuff like this from the Sesslers of the world:

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Nothing wrong with pacman :)
