With the videogame side, it seems like any competently put together game with decent story, acting and so on, if it is on the serious side (and not an action flick style game like Uncharted) it will get compared by someone to "Citizen Kane". There is this hope that games can break through and be taken more seriously. |
The Last of Us in terms of storytelling is definitely a pivotal game in videogame history. It is also one of the few games in gamer history that is pivotal in creating a strong female protagonist with a, whom displays great overall character and ability and is raised to become great. It put even Heavy Rain to shame which depends upon dramatic scenes. If you like The Last of Us somewhat, I would implore you to look at the movie The Road if you have Netflix. Theres no theres no infected human beings infesting the earth, but a very similar premise. I think this four star underrated flick was the major influence for the game.
