I still think it would have been a major coup if Nintendo had purchased them as rumored. But there could be worse outcomes, and while Sega hasn't had a sterling record lately, hopefully they'll handle Atlus properly.

Would be a tragedy if Sony brought them.

Would be even worse if it were Nintendo after that whole operation rainfall fiasco.

Not really^

Well at least it wasn't Capcom, Ubisoft, EA, or the main three. Sega is a fairly decent publisher so I'm sure everything will be alright.

Why is that?

Etrian Odyssey.

SMTxFE

Trauma Centre getting potentially killed off, the dev team being used to work on other stuff they dont want to.

That would be like replying with the Persona series as reasons for not wanting Nintendo. Those series wouldn't cease to exist.

Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

This could be a good thing, though, as Atlus USA could localize games in the Yakuza series, as well as other series that Sega didn't bring over.

I think it's safe to say that no western publisher had a hand in the bidding for Atlus, let alone EA or Ubisoft. We don't have a list for the bidders, right?

We know there was something like 28 bidders, and Sega Sammy was the only known gaming-related bidder. I think two other non-gaming companies were announced to be bidding, but I can't remember which.

Anyhow, I was just looking at the bright side. In all honesty, I don't think this was ever going to end well. None of the big publishers that would buy Atlus would be a great fit for gamers in general.

and will involve a restructuring of the company.

Fuck Fuck Fuck !!!

I wanted them in Nintendo´s / Sony´s hands !!

oh god.... no, T.T

Well I had time to calm down now, Sega isnt the worst company to buy it I guess. Any first party would been a bad move, I think Koei should have brought them but I doubt they had that kind of money.

Cool, good pickup for one of my favorite publishers!

Lol, you're like the only one here that's positive.
