If true this is a missed opportunity for Nintendo imo.

Sure it is. Specially now that they have a lot in the bank and they´re developing a game together

Sometimes it seems that Nintendo has no ambition. I wonder how great Atlus games would be if produced under the supervision on Nintendo...

I never really expected Nintendo/1st parties to buy them, but considering the fact that Nintebdo and SEGA are already in a partnership, my SMT X FE is safe!

Time to learn japanese for real...

People are complaining that Sega bought them... Just remember, if M$ had bought them or even buys Sega, there would be a shitstorm seeing M$ logos on Nintendo games! You never know, $$$ can take down any company. It would be the ultimate Moneyhat. Won't happen, but would be fun to watch these boards light up then.

I hope they never buy Sega.I don't want to see Atlus go down like Rare.

The thing is, that most developers have ups and downs in the quality of the games they release.  So, a lot of them get max $$$ selling off when they have had a big hit or a string of hits.  Regardless of who buys them, they are destined to have a few down releases at some point.  The problem seems to come from the fact that the new company that owns them only wants hits.   Which leads to most of the original people who made the company great to take off with all the $$$ and what is left behind is just a name.  Then the shell of its former self is devoid of the talent to produce again.  I think that is the reason that M$ doesn't buy too many software companies.
