Forums - Gaming - Rayman Legends ..... great game, great flop

So, it seems that Rayman Legends, despite being an excellent platformer ( one of the best ever made, in my opinion ) is destined to be a complete loss for Ubisoft.

So far, sales numbers are sort of mediocre, about 50k (all platforms combined) in the U.S. and 52 k in Europe. Heck, that´s even worse than  under-the-radar Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed

How can a game that got so much hype on the last E3 flop so hard? Any thoughs ?

People would rather same there money for the latest yearly Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed installment.

Sad really. Orgins was wonderful, and the legends demo I played added a ton of new stuff. Same thing for Dragon's Crown. Great games, horrible sales.

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

what did they expect?

If people were actually aware of this game the old italian plumber would be in serious trouble. But this way, Nintendo can afford to make the same fucking game for 20 more years.

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

Rayman Origins began with sales very poor also, there are many releases until later this year, the gamers have other priorities, GTA5, Beyond, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Assassins Creed, PS4...

The game is really creative and innovative but the controls are still floaty and not at 2D Mario Level.

If those are gamers' priorities, then it makes me even sadder.

Why blame Nintnedo??? Mario hadn't even released yet, and all Mario games aren't the same. Anyways, Ubisoft released this game at a horrible time. They should have stuck with the spring.

I don't blame Nintendo, I blame the people for being ignorant.

Unfortunately, they are, and this will put any game that isn't a big AAA game in the bargain bin in a week. Unfortunately, Rayman was the first. Sonic's Lost World will probably be next.
