Forums - General - Boy asks Santa to make kids stop bullying his sister

The main problem, I think, is that kids aren't taught morals anymore. TV shows and cartoons these days don't help.

This is true but only to a point. Bullying in and out of school has gone on for decades, probably as long as schools have existed. Good parenting comes into it, but kids can still be really mean. I myself was bullied quite a bit in my sophomore year of high school. "Not fun" would be an epic understatement. Kids and people really don't seem to have any clue just how much damage their hurtful jokes and shitty attitudes towards others can have. It's a serious issue that all societies really need to start addressing.

Wow and I thought our mail system was slow. 9 months late!

I was bullied too at a young age, seen it happen too from the other side. The attitude back then simply was that words can't hurt you. Nor fists, kids fight now and then, so what... First time it happened (age 11) I started acting the same thing out on my sister without realizing it. Still feel bad about that.

Second time I had to deal with it (age 13) I changed to a different class to get away from it. Unfortunately they started picking on a friend of mine who had a breakdown a year later and ended up in a psychiatric care resort.
It took a long time to get my self esteem back. In my late twenties I still got an uncomfortable panicky feeling when I heard a group of teenagers laughing somewhere. I hope I can protect my kids better.

Since you say there are no Unicorns, are you going to tell these kids that there is no Santa Claus, ethomaz?

I believe in Santa.

Santa can't help you, little boy. Only Satan can.

That letter is adorable, so at least there's something positive here.

I think you're all wrong to blame the modern media for this. I'm pretty sure bullying amongst children has always existed, and it probably will always exist as well. Kids are nasty enough without external influences.

Plus, you sound like the "ban GTA or there will be a massive crime wave" crowd who ended up being completely and utterly wrong.

sounds like Ryan needs to lay the smack down on a few of those bullies and they'll stop, and hell if it goes wrong and he starts getting his ass handed to him his sister can use some of that weight to help him out! (only partially joking about that last part, over 125 lbs that young you can do some damage)

that might sound brutish or barbaric but its a simple fact of life, they aren't going to stop unless you stand up to them (the adults can stop them in the short term but that will actually only make it worse in the long term).

looks like mom's raising a good kid though, needs to stop using her own weight problems and 'ADHD' to allow her daughter to over eat though - she's probably a 'nervous eater' because she's getting picked on at school for being overweight, maybe stop the overeating, the weight goes away and so does the nervousness.

of course media is part of increasing violence and bullying

if media would have zero influence there would be no commercials on tv or in magazins, but i think people under influence like to hear that they are not under influence.(btw there is a reason why subliminal advertising is forbidden and there is a reason why Stanley Kubrick banned his movie Clockwork Orange out of british cinemas(after dozens of gangs appeared out of nothing copiing the movie-gang and style and clubbing people to death since the movie was released)

You can't watch and play 24/7 several thing without being influenced by the media.Even old stupid books full of crap and full of illogical arguements can have such a massiv impact on grown up humans that they will commit horrible crimes but tv and games should have no impact??

the boy is a good one.

Very cute. Hope things work for his sister.

Fatc is she better gets used to it for being not in her natural habitat iow the ocean

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

and before i get attacked by moral knights, that was a joke
