Is it too much to ask for Link Between Worlds and Windwaker HD to have their spot in the limelight first? As someone who loves Zelda games (especially the storylines since they released Hystoria which I own) I really am looking forward to Windwaker HD since I've never really played the original gamecube one. And considering Link to the Past is my favorite Zelda game ever (not my most highly graded one, but my favorite nonetheless) I'm OBSESSED with there being a sequel to it with an amazing new story! Once these games have been out for a couple months, THEN will I start wanting to think about Zelda U.

No, you are right. But you are very lucky not to have played WW before. I really wanted to buy WW HD, but I've replayed it mere weeks before the announcement. Watching the WW HD trailers I (and my girlfriend who became a Zelda fan!) realized we recognize every single location, puzzle and event. It's pointless to replay the game now :/

ALBW though, absolutely. I hope there's going to be some bundle... kinda unlikely, since there already was a Zelda branded 3DS. A 2DS maybe! Ha.

  • No backtracking
  • Make it as nonlinear as possible

If you think about it, that doesn't really go together. You want a deep, meaningful world you get to know better while playing and exploring? There's bound to be backtracking. If you only speed through every area once, nothing has the time to grow on you.

Skyward Sword was incredible in that regard.

I should have probably gone into more detail, but I don't want backtracking like in SS. Like for example when you go to the forest a third time to play the stupid water music notes thingy, or the third time in the volcano when developers add the obligatory sneak behind guards section.

The problem with SS imo was that there are only 3 big areas in the game, and you have to return to them 3 times each, I didn't really liked that. Something more in the lines of Ocarina of Time is better imo. where there is technically backtracking, but the areas are somewhat different and there is the "wow" factor of seeing them when you were a kid and seeing them now as an adult.

1: Motion controls like SS but improved
2: Huge open world, part ocean with islands and part land with rivers, ponds
3: various ways of transportation like horse, boat or some other creatures
4: more cites or villages
5: a real forest with a habitat (a couple of animals)
6: fishing should be back with real motion controls
7: no hand holding!!!!!! but a helper is ok to have only if you need them/it though
8: Miiverse could be used with the help of doves, awls or an eagle or in bottles if you are at sea or close
9: as little story and cut-scenes as possible
10: some monsters like in shadow of the colossus both size and the way you can fight them outside or start inside and go outside even
11: hunting for food to either sell, eat or give to those in need
12: a musicale instrument that you can actually play rather than just move left/right
13: I don't mind what art they use as it is always beautiful
14: orchestrated music is a given
15: Link no talk but others could talk and it would be cool if they did so in Hylien/Hyrilian?
16: at least 7 dungeons and something unique like the desert one in SS (loved that one)
17: MOTION CONTROLS!!

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

A) I don't care what style the graphics are in. Graphics melt away after a while and all you notice is whether or not the game is actually good. I've never been bothered by graphics in any of the 3D Zelda's.

B) Post-game content is a must. Skyward Sword and WW HD are moving in the right direction with Hero Mode, Boss Rush, etc. But they need to take it up a notch. Nothing was worse than beating Twilight Princess and not being able to save after I was finished. Totally unacceptable. Give us a real New Game Plus, not just "Hero Mode". Hero Mode is great, but it's not enough. Take a cue from 3D Land. Remixed, altered levels for all eight worlds upon completion of the game. Or so I was told, never finished it myself.

C) More side quests. There should be more side quests than main story content. Exploring off the beaten path and wandering around in random areas exploring and collecting things you don't necessarily need is entire reason I fell in love with Zelda OoT in the first place. They need to go back to that. WW had a lot of side content, as did MM, but TP and SS really needed more.

D) A more fully-realized open-world type experience. Wind Waker had it right in a lot of ways. It was an open-world game after you got the sail boat. Twilight Princess had enormous fields but there were completely empty and bereft of gameplay. SS had no fields. Go back to Wind Waker style. Put an ocean in it, but also decent chunks of land. A mix between the density of SS and the open, vast exploration of WW's islands and ships. It's do-able.

E) Optional motion control. Self-explanatory. SS controls are fine with the Wii Remote Plus, but also make it fully enjoyable with the Pro Controller. A true dual-analog HD Zelda would be amazing.

F) No ridiculous, insulting hand-holding. No more telling me I've received a blue rupee and it's worth 5 rupees, every single time I turn on the game. Stop that. No more hour-long combat tutorials. Make them all skip-able for older fans who already know how to play a Zelda.

G) None of these requests or expectations are unfair or unreasonable. It would also bring back a lot of lapsed fans.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

1. Lot's of exploration, I want a land mass, and a sea. Boat and horse are the best travel methods.

2. Let me customize my boat and horse.

3. Consistent art style. Wind Waker is so consistent throughout, it doesn't have to look like that, but I want a
consistent art style. TP looked pretty different in a lot of places.

4. Whole new combat system, no motion controls, a lot deeper.

5. Better music than SS. SS had some weak ass music.

6.Dungeons like skyward sword. Those were great

7. Awesome hubworld like skyward sword, or wind waker. None of that TP shite.

8. Guide like Wind Waker. I liked wind waker because your guide stayed out of the way, and when he or she did talk, they said cool stuff.

9. Short intro, cmon, 3 hours is far far far too long.

10. Lot's of sidequests. Good ones, not just fetch quests.

My dream Zelda?

- Skyward Sword controls
- E3 2011 tech demo graphics
- Compact worlds without big boring open areas
- No actual-language voice acting
- Twilight Princess level of maturity

Zelda needs a reboot and this is a chance for the franchise to shine.

Zelda needs to become OPEN WORLD in the sense that it become a sandbox like these other big games like skyrim or GTA.

Zelda needs also needs to stress more ACTION in the action adventure genre rather than annoying puzzles meaning zelda needs more focus and depth on combat.

Zelda needs to turn into an RPG and what I mean by this is that you choose the role that link will play such as whether he will become a warrior, mage, or healer and this will probably make the game have alot more depth while also brining some good side content on the game as well.

Link a...healer? You realize for that to happen Zelda should become an MMO  right?

Or nintendo could just put in a bunch of AI's for it to work but healers also have some offensive abilites to y'know.

It needs to do none of those things. You just go ahead the buy the upcoming Dragon Age. Just solved your problem. Next?
