Forums - Microsoft - Insider Daily. DDR3 RAM inside Xbox One acts like DDR4 from 2014 PCs and really have 272 GB/s BW (Misterxmedia)

It's becoming a bit of a joke all this now to be honest. Be glad once the consoles are out and it will be the games/stories and genres that make a difference.

Anything MisterX does goes straight into my dubious list because he just seems so pro MS, and whatever he says doesn't say reasonable (conspiracy theories), and that's before I get into the tech side of things.

Guess we find out next week considering thats when this secret NDA is supposed to run out.

At least it seems that there are a couple of people with enough knowledge to discuss it. Too bad I lack the knowledge to get what they are even talking about. Seems clear enough though that even they can't confirm or deny anything, only make an educated guess. They are PROBABLY right, but it will be fun to watch the back and forth over nothing.

@Mach The point of hUMA is to reduce delays between accessing data between the cpu and gpu and the reason why the xbone lacks it has to do with the fact that microsoft and AMD had a different vision on hardware and compute.                                                                                                       Edit: Anyways I have to catch some z's and see you all later.

I am not doubting that the X1 does not do HUMA as AMD does HUMA, I am stating that MS system does something totally different but still does the same thing.  A hardware paging table does eactly what you are talking about.  The CPU and GPU do not have to move, flush or access each other memory.  Memory addresses are paged to the synchronized hardware page table. The complete X1 system, GPU, CPU and Special co-Processors all have access and share this paging table.  This mean any memory lookup accesses the paging table not directly with the processors memory.  This is a much more complex design and its a bigger scope than what HUMA is designed to do.

I agree that MS and AMD arch did not line up with each other as MS was definitely looking to create this VM type of setup.  Anyway hit you up later as I need some zss myself and I teach in the morining (API class go figure).

Your forgetting to look at the slide. Page tables are meant to be just virtual memory that responds to the physical memory. Both the gpu and cpu don't share the same MMU which is a big issue as that would be the only way to access virtual memory together.

omg xbox fanboys they sure are desperate LOL

I can confirm this because my uncle is the head of Microsoft.

It was your cousin that leaked the GTA V videos on the web?

It was indeed. He was also responsible for the moon landings and creation of the rubber duck.

finally confirmed:moonlandings were faked.thx

If Misterxmedia isn't reliable, then why do people keep posting his stories?

This on the fence stuff from you Xbox fans is really getting old.  "The people who are trying to debunk these rumors are PROBABLY right, but they can't prove anything."  Seriously?  You just phrase it that way so you can still hope that it's true, but won't be called out when it's proven to be just BS.  It's not like these debunkers are talking out of their asses.  It's obvious they know tech and they are actually giving reasons/proof why these BS rumors and PR talk are just that, BS.  This latest one being quickly debunked, as Misterxmedia made a calculation error.  There's no probably about it, they are right.

I think it's time for Xbox fans to get off the spec war, as they already lost, and quit trying to latch onto any PR statement and rumor from ANY source as gospel.  It only ends up making you look foolish in the end.

I'm sure the same could be said about PS owners and the person who made this thread is far from an Xbox fanboy.

Well, to be honest, I think he did it more for comedic reasons, rather than try and start an indepth discussion about specs.  Of course, Xbox fans actually taking these rumors seriously is why we even have to have discussions in the first place.
