Man, I've been playing all these shooters for so long that I forgot what it was like to just enjoy the game for the vast worlds, exploration and the thrill of epic battles. Shadow of the Colossus brought me back to the days where I could just enjoy a game and have fun in the simplicity without a major story. It was a huge reflecting point. To me SOTC was the evolutionary point in gameplay structure from Mario to Zelda and then ICO and SOTC and I don't think the next standard will be set for fantasy adventure for a good long while unless and Sony or Nintendo team has anything to say about it. I am really hoping and praying that Japan picks it up because this game in HD still holds up in relevance. What a beautiful game. The emotions from playing this have solidified that will definitely support Nintendo, because I've missed too much Mario and Zelda already because I missed the Wii. It's funny that a Sony game made me miss my Sony and Nintendo days. This gen it is! PS4 and Wii U first! Suck it to all the haters!

I played the hd collection in ps3. I finished first two colossus but didn't played it again. i just roamed the environment randomly. It was more fun than beating the colossus. This game is a gen.

Why didn't you finish after the first two colossi?

An unforgetable game for me. Played in on my old PS2 some years ago and bought the HD remaster on PSN later for PS3 just to get the Platinum trophy,

I have the ICO HD collection for ps3 but the only thing that put me off some what from this game is the horse controls... I get why they did it but god damn it... its ass (horse control that is, not the game)... Maybe its cause I played Zelda too much and Epona controls so much differently but I just hated how the horse was controlled... Great game though

Played SOTC for the first time last year and its now in my top 10 favorite games.

This may sound wierd bit I hope Wii U gets a remake of Metroid 2 thats kinda like SOTC, just an open world to explore and exterminate Metroids. Could be first or third person as long as it keeps the story to a minimum, unlike Other M.

I dont know. I was playing ico and sotc togeather. But suddenly they were added to my backllog list.

I've still never played Ico, but the Ico/SotC HD collection is one of the few HD rereleases I own. I like the PS2 version of SotC better. Sure the PS3 version might have a consistently better framerate, but an issue with it is that there are additional frames added in that make it so a colossus can shake constantly and Wanderer can't get any time to attack in between.

Playing through the game I was always like, "Man, they feel like they shake a lot more than they did on the PS2 version." Find out other people have the same complaints and then after a little more searching found out the reason why.

While you may have seen the areas by wandering around, there are a lot of draw dropping areas that you go through on your way to each colossus, and just about all of the colossus except for one is a better experience than the first two.  The game might not be for you, but I think you should give it another chance and go from colossus to colossus without wandering around.

It's funny, just last night I was lying in bed and thinking about how insanely incredible this game is. One of those rare gaming experiences that really amazes you and sticks with you forever. One of these days I'm going to pick up a PS3, and I'd be lying if I said the HD collection wasn't literally at the top of my list.
