Forums - Nintendo - what will happen after release of SSBB and Mario Kart Wii

I have just bought Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem for the GC, I really hope there is a sequel some time because so far it is amazing... If I had any confidence in film directors being able to make video games into films, this would be my suggestion.

@OP... Sorry but what exactly do you mean? Nintendo have released Smash, MK and Galaxy in the first year therefore they have nothing else? What do you think happened on the Gamecube?
There are so many more franchises they haven't even started with yet, never mind actual games (a franchise can encompass a number of games)

Around the Network

There is so much more coming out - its not even funny - and thats just the stuff from Ninty:

 - new Zelda

 - new Mario (both already been rumoured by Ninty)

 - Animal Crossing Online (this Xmas)

 - WiiMusic

...Pikmin, DK, Yoshi, Kirby, Golden Sun, F-Zero, Starfox, etc...

The possibilities really are endless. They are cranking up their Wii development teams - and I can't wait to see what they produce next.

 - What is the Brawl team working on now?

 - What is the Galaxy (Toyko studio) working on now?

 - What about the Zelda team?

 - What about the main R&D team - now that WiiFit is out?

How about a Nintendogs game for the Wii?

What about a Princess Peach branded adventure game?

What about "Mario Brothers Circus" - having Mario/Luigi doing acrobatics/walking on tightropes via the Wiimote?

How about a Luigi's Mansion II? (I would love to see that!)

What about a Wind Waker II?

What about an online F-Zero - everyone "owns" a planet, can create their own races, and host multiplayer races across the world?

...and if they run out of ideas, there is *always* WiiSports II...

Well, I think we'll see
brawl in march,
wii fit in may
either pikmin or animal crossing in early october
mario kart in late october
mario party 9 in mid november

I also feel like the next zelda will either be announced at e3 or the toyko gaming event in september (for a fall 09 release). Also think a new starfox announcement for Q1 09.

No way will MarioKartbe delayed from a Q2 release to a Q4! Nintendo knows they need to keep gamers happy this year to compete against Sony and Microsoft.

Also Donkey Kong was announced at TGS 2005 where is it now. I think theirs a good chance it will be unvieled! Not to mention Nintendo released in its fiscal year 2008 projections that Animal Crossing will be released this year!

So if Donkey Kong and Animal Crossing also get released this year then we have a pretty stacked year and no shortage of great Nintendo franchises to unviel! I'm betting Factor5 is working on a new StarFox for 2009/10~!

First of all, look who you're talking about. It's nintendo, the masters of delaying software. Remember when brawl was going to hit in december and mario kart in january? Mario kart can't get too close to brawl cause it pulls from a similar audiance. Wii fit will be the place holder until the winter comes around. It's a true blockbuster, more so then animal crossing.

mario kart is the blockbuster that is.

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Nintendo still has a bunch of great games to release. Kirby, F Zero, Star Fox, Animal Crossing, ect.

Nintendo still doomed?

Plus they can go deeper with a Mother RPG for Wii and a Kid Icarus game

Ninty has alot up there sleves. But probably won't give us complete info until E308. But as long as I have Brawl/MKWii online I should be fine for a longggg time.
