Good choice.  Before my current car I posted a few posts back, my last car was a 2005 Elantra GT fastback that I bought new.  Was a GREAT car.  It got totaled at about 60,000 miles but prior to that happening I never had 1 single even small issue with it.  Performed perfectly.  It also held its value well.

It is, I chose the old one, cause it's harder to get.

Thought yours would be more than 4 years older. You have just one mirror and the flat windscreen, but you probably have the sexier dashboard, as I unfortunately have the newer type :/ Still, The Beetle is a chick magnet, isn't it? :) It really works wonders, haha. And so many people keep making photos everywhere I go. I even got an offer to get it painted full chrome for free, I'm wondering what it would look like with these awesome curves reflecting everything :D So I'm a bit tempted, but I like my colour.

I wouldn't know about the dashboard being sexier, that part needs a bit of work doing to it.

As for being a chick magnet, I haven't put it into practice yet. Still nice to get flashed / honked by other old VW drivers though.

At one point they redesigned the dashboard. Mine is pretty much like this one:

Though this is not my car! :) I have this awesome limited edition sport leather steering wheel which looks awesome and I have the original gearbox handle ;D

The older dashboards were vertically flat and looked nicer imo, but I like the outside look of this model buch better, so I had to choose something :)

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

what I drive is my dream car

What I have now:

I'm addng an HHO generator over the next couple of months in hopes of increasing fuel economy.  A friend of mine installed one in his car and increased his mileage by 30%!

What I want:

I would completely gut the powertrain and replace it with something old-school.

Thank you. That's great to hear. It has all what I would ask for in a car, geat performance , ecomomic and decent looking.

I probably would have stuck with them for my latest car purchase except the new models just weren't tall-friendly enough.  I had space issues with the roof and footrest when I test drove some of the models.  Also, I didn't like that they got rid of the GT.  They make a great car though.
