yeah i found it odd when i heard this. Maybe they will add more but unless they get like a 50% power increase these abilities seems pretty bad.

btw my guess was that they will get 50% boost to pulse or bite moves for these abilities

Well there's Dragon Pulse.

The only other Pulse move I know is Heal Pulse that's used only in doubles/triples.

its a video thats new! Also Think man is right, grass pokemon now uneffected by sleep powder, hopefully more moves than that! Electric cant be under paralysis even with stun spore/etc!
