Forums - Gaming - Tales of Zestiria trademarked in Europe (Likely the name of the next Tales game.)

Hope it's a PS4 game.

I am playing Xillia at the moment, one of my favorite games in a long time

I never liked the Tales Of series much because too much "Weeboo" and cliche anime tropes , but the characters in Xillia are very likeable

I'm playing Symphonia right now - I'm on the 2nd disc!

Once I am done with that I will start on Graces F some time in the future before buying Xillia when it gets cheaper.

buy it now, you wont regret it.

I'm loving this corner we've turned with Tales. Even though I've not got Xillia yet (although it's definitely on my wish list); I did buy Graces, and I plan on getting Xillia 2; Symphonia HD & this if it turns up as well.

I hope that going into the future we get all Tales of games over here. I never understood how Nippon Ichi can manage to localize games like Hyperdimension Neptunia & turn a profit on minor sales; but an altogether bigger (in sales) series like Tales wasn't always viable. It wasn't like one had particularly more text or voice acting than the other.

Neptunia is easier to make and is a "Low budget" title, compared to Tales of which is a pretty big game.

But... presumably that's in terms of development budgets.  What in localisation makes Tales of more expensive?

My understanding of it was that you need the text translating & voice acting added.  Both of the games need this.  Both have lots of text and lots of voice acting.  Is there some other element to Tales?

I agree with you, though NISA leaves a lot of things unvoiced in the Neptunia games so Tales of is proabably a lil more expensive. I'm sure Bamco is turning profits on Tales of games, I think that most companies have unrealistic goals they want their games to meet and when the game doesn't meet those goals it's seen as a failure. If more companies had the mindset of Nisa and Xseed we'd see a lot more gems from Japan. Companies like Sega and SE want nothing but huge profits and if a game can't offer that they don't think it's worth their time.

one is bigger than the other, like in game world, Tales of has lots of cutscenes and voices for example.
