Umm this is obvious no? The number of PC's that can outperform a closed system with an 8 core CPU and 8 GB ram is very low in most homes.

pretty obvious. even people like spurge with a laptop from 1985 have an account and if it is only to chat with others
then there are those who play only little indie titles on their laptop from 2005.
it would be more interesting to know how it looks for people who are even interested in games like metro: last light or crysis 3. if most who are interested in these games have a "strong" pc, the whole statistics are useless because that would mean that these gamers buy a strong rig if necessary.
maybe most of the people in this statistic who have a weak pc just don't care about great graphics at all and would also not play these games with the pc of permalite.

'tis true! What's interesting, the majority of PC gamers I know, with high-end/Enthu rigs hardly ever brag about PC gaming, itself. It's the people who's machines just top consoles that feel the need to belch out how much better the PC is. |
It's more like you get what you pay for, the question really comes down to how much of an asshole you want to be about it.

HAHA true.
Fact is most PC gamers also have a console (LIke me). face it, there are lots of great games that never come to PC.

Sure, but there are a lot of console gamers that act a certian way. Would be pointless to lcaim "most" do, when you don't know most of them and/or you don't see a majority that act like that anywhere. |
Nevermind, didn't read his sig properly. Thought it was the typical "PC gaming master race" image.

Well isn't it obvious? You don't need right now a PC stronger than Xbone or Ps4 to play games smoothly.
Well there was no reason to upgrade a PC since Crysis 2007.
Everyone I know keeps saying "I want a new PC but upgrading would be a waste of time/money since the hardware evolution was artificially slowed down because the games are "crap" in terms of graphics anyways"
And everyone is waiting at least half a year after all the 3 consoles are on the market before they'll buy new hardware.
I mean why would one buy a new PC when every game is working on ones 2008/9 computer? Of course all the computers are slower than the next consoles now, People wasting money for titans etc are the minority.
A friend of mine bought his i5 2500k in december 2010 and there is no reason to buy a newer processor in the same price range at all since the successor to the successor to the 2500k has what? 10% more power? rofl.
Im still playing on my 2008 Core2Duo E8500 and every single game runs fine. Developers are to stupid to make the games use more than 2 cores so why bother upgrading the CPU to a quad hexa or octacore?

It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that most gamers are on a budget, looking to get the most bang for their buck.
Not that surprising. High-end PC users can't be the majority and that's kinda obvious.
This is expected. If the majority of PC gamers had £1000+ rigs, No one would have to complain about consoles holding games back. lol. Its because "we" are the minority.
