So MS have released pictures of the first XBox Ones off the production lines, and if the rumours are true Sony set there production away last month, so with just 1 month difference in production, how is Sony managing to release in an extra 17 countries that MS is not?

• Despite all the denial are MS having Yield problems?
• As a hardware manufacturer is Sony just that much better at logistics when it comes to producing new products?
• Are MS shipping to less countries but with more units and Sony spreading themselves to thin?
• Are those Additional 17 countries so insignificant that an extra months production can accomodate them all?
• Or something else?

I have high hopes that Sony will announce Japan/Asia release for this year (late December).

It is all about production volume of each console... % of good chips are better for Sony than MS.

I'm sure if MS didn't have any issue with production they should started the production months ago and set a early date for release... MS really tried to launch before Sony in US.

I myself have wondered if Sony will announce a Japan date at TGS, i suppose they know theres not a battle for preorders so they can announce late, but i still think it will be March 2014 now. 

It is already confirmed to be announced before TGS... next monday (Sep 9)... Sony created a event in Japan just for that.

Oh wow that would suggest this year then, why hold a special event just to say not this year losers :P

it is depending on the pace they are manufacturing, lets use simple mat suppose they can make 18 million consoles a year that would be around 1.5 million consoles a month
1.5 million extra consoles would be more then enough for the smaller EU countries for quite a while

Do you have an idea of what you think the splits will be between the main and smaller countries

Adding a bit more info xbox sold max 3.9 million consoles in one month so did the ps3 both being quite sometime within the lifecycles. so i dont suspect we will see a peak that high.
I just realised with the earlier mentioned estimated production both microsoft and sony probably will meet demand?!!! so you can assume the production pace is still a bit lower then what i guessed
