wii fit

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

I would say Wii Sports but it wont be as consistent as Halo or Pokemon. Wii Sports sold the Wii but Halo Sold both the Xbox and X360. Likely will sell the X1 as well.

Pokemon has sold every handheld nintendo has released so I would say Pokemon first, Halo 2nd, and Mario 3rd.

It was Tetris that sold the first Gameboy, not Pokemon.

As I said with Wii Sports, it was not as consistent.  Pokemon has sold multiple consoles, not just one.

The PS3's system seller was Blu-ray.  Sure it had games, but for many the primary reason was it was the least expensive Blu-ray player on the market for a long time.

I question that, perhaps the graphics snobs may have, but I bet the techno savvy or die hard sony fans were more than the blu-ray enthusiats crowd.  Thing was that despite the blu-ray being included in the PS3, it wasn't what sold it.  In fact for the first 3 years the ps3 was sort of lackluster at best.  It might have been Sony's target to pimp it as blu ray, but sales came after games came out for the system.

Just saying that DVD played a big role in ps and ps 2, but blu ray did not.

It was something like the 40% of all the beginning period purchaser said they got a PS3 was because of the blu-ray.

The PS3 had a great launch, even outsold the Xbox 360's in North America for a very short time if you align them. The regular Xbox was a DVD player if you got the remote too; so they could get it on either system.

A not so expensive Blu-ray a huge part of the PS3's sales strategy, more people still Netflix on it than play games.  Exceeded only by the Wii as a console for Netflix usage.

Sony did that on purpose they wanted to push Blu-ray, so they included it in the PS3.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Super Mario Bros.

Minesweeper

MS Office

On serious note, Wii Sports, I doubt anything comes close to it.

If steam-box would come with half life 3 as a launch exclusive, it would probably set a record for console sales.

You can thank Microsoft for taking all of PC's major exclusive names away from them to sweeten the deal for the Xbox. They claim they came to save the PC realm from Sony, but only raped them and took their children! ::Scampers off!:: ;)

The thing is Nintendo has mario as their mascot as well as other hit titles that are quality. Sony should probably go for both as well.

Thats kind of the point, they are trying to make as many quality titles as possible, but the marketing doesn't match the quality of most of the titles. Some of them are sleeper hits.
