Wii Sports. Super Mario Bros, or Pokemon.

I LOVE ICELAND!

If steam-box would come with half life 3 as a launch exclusive, it would probably set a record for console sales.

I am surprised people are saying halo... It's obviously Mario or Pokemon.

Pokemon & Mario; they bascially moved all Nintendo's handhelds

The extra controller was a wii sports seller.. Ppl didn't buy the console for that game, they bought the game for the cheap controller

Wii Sports.

AGREE!

Not really any question of what individual title influenced system sales.  The OP thought Mario 64.  N64 only sold 33 million units total, and how many of them came from Mario 64?  It's obvious that the Wii's sales were a direct reflection of Wii sports - I would guess 40-50 million alone.

Wii Sports and Pokemon followed by Halo and maybe Monster Hunter. Having Final Fantasy was huge before but not anymore.

Pretty simple..I mean what do you think?

It's either

Super Mario Bros. - NES
Tetris - Gameboy
Wii Sports - Wii

This. Plus Halo on Xbox. It's funny that Playstation never got those. I guess the variety of great games on their system have been all together their system seller.

According the Cerny, having a mascot character who sells the console has never been Sonys primary goal like MS and Nintendo. Their goal is to make various hit titles that all sell well and being known for large amounts of quality games.

The thing is Nintendo has mario as their mascot as well as other hit titles that are quality. Sony should probably go for both as well.

Pokémon Red/Blue
