I'm pulling for Tropical Freeze, but Wind Waker and possibly 3D World probably have a better shot. Lost World is a dark horse.

Tis pretty odd but the sales and reviews almost never go hand in hand tho. When it comes to metacritic'ing the DS I would imagine that 99.9999% of people don't know the highest rated game on the system on top of that it's the 101st highest seller according to this sites sales.

I haven't looked but I'm guessing it's GTA: Chinatown wars.  At any rate, sales and scores SHOULDN'T be the same thing.  Obviously something like Wonderful 101 isn't going to have the broad appeal of something like Mario.  Ratings should help sales, but they shoulnd't be the same thing or we'd have an industry that simply panders to critics.

This shines through 100%, there is no reason to do this... most critics get their review copies of the game for free, if those are the only copies of the game you move because while they game works 100% perfectly but doesn't appeal to anyone then the devs make no money from it.

Review scores are in there with the more powerful machine pissing contest you see around the place, just because something reviews well doesn't mean it'll sell or turn profits, just because something can shift a billion more polygons per second than it's rival doesn't mean people will bother to utilize that fact in games.

but yeah back to the topic - I would actually imagine that DK game reviewing the best, looking at DK country returns on the wii and the fact that it's being worked on by retro studios I don't see how they would churn out a game which doesn't at least breach the 90s

DKC: TF: 87 (Same as DKCR)
SM3DW: 88
SLW: 78

I hope Mario blows us away. It looks disappointing at the moment. Especially as a single player experience.

It'll be a close race between Wind Waker HD, 3D World, and DKC. I think all with average around a 90.

My guess is:

Wind Waker HD: 92-93

Super Mario 3D World: 90-91

DKCTF: 88-89

Sonic Lost World: 83-84
