Forums - Sales - why preorders are a wack measurestaff

Oh hey my buddy preordered the new **insert random tech/gaming device here** at this store and they had like 50 of them but this guy said there were alot of preorders so you better preorder it  there fast so you know they will have it in stock. (

and on the other hand the new **insert random tech/gaming device here** will also be available at the store and they said there were barely any preorders!!! sweet i just can go too whatever store that has them and pick it up anyway

preorders are a good measurement for the quantity of an device if there are already preorders rolling (snowball effect)

but you can't compare it towards the other device if that device hasn't that many preorders rolling and is expected to be picked up quite smoothly

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Is this referring to a certain game that's coming out and isn't doing well in the pre-order charts? Or are we just talking generally here?

Preorder measurement is important when it's in favor of my prefered console, when it's not, preorder numbers are worthless.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

How dare you question data collected from an individual walmart/target/gamestop and then applied to the general population.

Edit: You are kirby007. You are allowed to do that sir. Your angry face gives Kratos chills

aye just generally speaking

I have to agree that preorders dont mean shit. They only show 1 thing which is who bothers paying in advance for something they actually don't know anything about.

No offence but I think people who preorder are less smart than people who don't. Same applies to people who pay full price compared to people who try to find deals or can wait for a price drop.  thats just my opinion.
