it had a ton of great games but I remember there was quite a bad feeling towards gaming as a whole during the earlier generations, it definately was a lot less main stream and accepted as a passtime for so many as it is today. I'm sure if the general feeling towards gaming today existed while the SNES/Megadrive were around they would have sold a hell of a lot more.... and also would have had more FPS's than Zero Tolerence and Doom hahah.

Well sure the original Monster hunter 3 was on the wii but some of the greatest games on the 3ds imo are the ports it gets from all over the place.

Angry Birds Trilogy - ios port

Super Street fighter 4 - Xbox360/Ps3 port

Donkey Kong Country returns 3d - Wii port

Zelda Ocarina of time 3d - N64 port

Starfox 64 3d - N64 port

Bit Trip Saga - PC port

Metal Gear Solid 3D Snake eater - Ps2 port

Tales of the Abyss - Ps2 port

If it wasn't for the 3ds being such a great home for all these ports from every other system out there it wouldn't be selling half as well as it is today. While it's true that some of the above listed are not the best versions of the games and in some cases they're missing elements (street fighters animated backgrounds and AE characters being MIA) some of the ports are incredible the 2 N64 games are glorious to have in a handheld and have been remastered with utmost care and respect to their original games.

Same with StarFox 64, game was given a complete graphical overhaul, models were all cleaned up and gyroscopic controls were add'd + new game modes which make playing with the new controls easier.

It's still the same game at heart tho... would you not consider that a port?

I still have my n64 tucked in under my big TV in the sitting room with this game always close at hand, by far one of my favourite games of all times. But yeah now we get 3 ways to get all the medals, heh... time stamp! and I need to charge my XL it seems.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBAUyOq0Q9Y - Random youtube vid of the intro + the first stage, if you've ever tried to capture video from the 3ds you know that it looks about 1000000x better than this in your hands hah but yeah you can see the improved water and just how clean the ships and models are now, also the ARwings don't have the SF pattern mirrored backwards on the other side of the ships like they did on the n64... ah good old 4kb of texture cache :D

Edit - Not sure if Gamestop exists where you live btw mate but the ones here in Ireland atm have a few 3ds games reduced to €8.88 and I seen starfox64 3d was one of them, I was severely jealous of anyone picking it up for that price considering how great a shooting classic Star Fox 64 / Lylat Wars was.

I agree, on the awesomeness of the game, but also on it's graphics. In your hands, the game looks astonishing. It's even more amazing considering this was a launch-window title!

bold: O.O... Dude, I wasn't even that good on the N64 back in the day when I played it daily. Now on 3DS, my skills have notably decreased. Only got one medal !

I'm not sure if it's really a good thing here tho hah. I've finished this game so many times. I have a backlog of close to 1000 games now from ps2/gc/xbox/ps3/xbox360(pretty much all game systems since wow came out) all sitting on the shelves of my house... but if I sit down to play something there is a high chance I go with a classic I know I'm going to enjoy. There was a reason this was number 7 on my top 50 games list on here last Xmas.
