Wow people in the internet will turn anything into bad idea if they don't understand it.
It really is pretty simple.
Some parents didn't like the idea of 3D so they wouldn't buy it
This take away that excuse for those parents
It's not like the 3DS is being pulled from the market so to say its an admittance of failure is grasping for straws.

There are more than 3 skus for PS3 and 360.

This. The number of SKUs isn't the problem, giving options is nice for handhelds. The idea of a 2D-only cheaper 3DS isn't a bad one, it's just that the design stinks.

wat are you talking about? Whats wrong with 3 options? Pls tell me! Imo there should be more than that, that way it'll satisfy the consumer. Thats like saying you live in town A and could only go to College A? Why? Where are the options lol

thank you thank you THANK YOU! People are blinded for 2 reasons, one which you mentioned (Fugly design) and its not for you (cuz its not targeted for 90% of users on this site).
