I bet I do not stand alone on this.  They have put it off for way too long.  If they did it, it would probably make me buy their system.  Only system available right now that I don't own.

If they make a new 2D Metroid, it would most likely be on 3DS. Fusion was no good, huh?

This is really off topic, but does the regular classic controller work? I really liked it, more so than that ... abomination to gaming.

It'd be a good value I suppose but I still don't find WiiU - in general - appealing. I have 4 wiimote plus now, don't care for pro, and don't want NintendoLand so none of that is adding value for me.

So far there's nothing on WiiU now or upcoming that looks significantly better than the Wii versions (or 3DS versions) of the same games to justify a WiiU purchase or that I can't play on 360. When Smash Bros releases it (+MK7, SMW, NSMB2, FE) will likely push me off the fence to buying a 3DS though.

No, Fusion was a great game.

Metroid: Other M is a modern 2D Metroid playable on WiiU.

The Classic Controller (Pro) should work in all games that support the Pro Controller, as long as the game in question doesn't use the sticks as buttons as well. Unfortunately, the reality is that not all developers, including Nintendo themselves, support it. Compatible controllers are shown on the back of game cases. Pro controller + any game all for $300? Yes, you'd have my attention. Without those items $200 is my price point right now.

The regular Classic Controller and the Classic Controller Pro are functionally identical. The image on the game case shows the CCP (technically it shows Wiimote+CCP, because the CCP doesn't have its own power source), but the regular CC obviously works too in such a case.

The Pro Controller has L3/R3 buttons (not sure how Nintendo calls them), so it has its own image.

In short: PC =/= CCP. CCP = CC.

Gotcha, I just wanted to make sure my Classic Controller worked when I get my Wii U in September.

Sounds like trolling. Surely you have played sequels to games on the same console, so why would you be against sequels on a new console? Especially because you go on to say that sequels are perfectly okay on the 3DS and a reason to buy the system.

Of course I'd get Mario Kart 7 and Smash Bros 4 if they came out on Wii.  Why not?  I might get NSMBWii2(U) as well if I ever get around to finishing the first one.  But to pay $300 (+$60 each) to play those games that really don't seem to add anything significant over what I already have? No.  The point of a new gen of hardware is to create gameplay not possible before.   WiiU games, aside from being in HD, are failing to do that.   Aside from NintendoLand and maybe Game and Wario, pretty much all the WiiU games currently out or announced could (and in my completely selfish opinion - should) be on Wii.  

As for 3DS, I've yet to buy one.   But I love Smash Bros and it'd be cheaper to get a 3DS than WiiU.  Although to be honest, aside from Megaman and WiiFit Trainer, there's no reason to play it over Brawl yet so that may not justify a purchase either.

Still scratching my head as to why NSMBU was not bundled, and continues to not be bundled. Hopefully DKC gets its bundle.

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.
