looks nice and very comfortable to be honest

and it's an edition to what exits so you can chose which system suits you best

I don't get why people complain even though they have the choice not to get it!

It's a secret to everybody.

Yes. Will likely buy 3.

No clam shell design equals no buy for me. Then again, I don't think this thing is targeted at me.

I am still planning on getting the 3DS at some point.

Switch Code: SW-7377-9189-3397 -- Nintendo Network ID: theRepublic -- Steam ID: theRepublic

Now Playing
Switch - Super Mario Maker 2 (2019)
3DS - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (Trilogy) (2005/2014)
Mobile - Yugioh Duel Links (2017)
Mobile - Super Mario Run (2017)
PC - Borderlands 2 (2012)
PC - Deep Rock Galactic (2020)

In a weird way, yes. Cheaper is cool (XL is too pricey and comes without charger!), it looks most comfortable to hold of all the models, looks kinda neat in the square pouch...

No 3D means you won't get the full experience out of Zelda:ALBW and other upcoming titles. That said, the 3DS's 3D does still feel unfinished, with its super narrow sweet spot.

What I was actually hoping for is a revamped 3DS sometime soon, sort of the 3DS 'lite': Better 3D tech, battery and ergonomy. Won't buy the 2DS, but the 3DS XL doesn't quite seal the deal for me either, so far.

:/

Edit: Street price will be really low though, once all the mail order shops have it in store. Can see it selling for as low as 100-120€. Which is really compelling.

It's a step backwards in every sense. But that's because it's supposed to be.

Not really. The design is growing on me and I'm curious to see how it feels. But, I really like the 3D features, and I take my 3DS with me alot, so the no clamshell design is a deal breaker.

My sister on the other hand wants a 3DS pretty much only for Animal Crossing, Phoenix Wright, and maybe Mario Kart. She won't take it with her much, and she has a purse, so this may be good for her.

Everyone says it's going to confuse parents. I don't know if you guys know this, but you don't become handicapped when you become a father or mother....

This device is going to move out at holidays. It will go down like this:

Kid: "Mommy Mommy! Pwokemom X! PWEEASE MOMMY!"
Mom: "We'll see, wait until santa comes"

Mom goes into gamestop/walmart/whatever: "I'd like to buy a 3DS with the new Pokemon game for my boy, what's the cheapest model you've got?"

Employee: "Well this one is 130, and it's made so kids won't break it, also it doesn't have a 3D mode that can strain young childrens eyes"

Mom: "Great I'll get that one, and that pokemon game, thanks"

Employee:" Wait, can I interest you in this Vit-"
Mom " Absolutely not, I'm not going to buy the second dreamcast. Now take my damn money"

FIN

170 bucks and you have a SOLID Christmas/Festivus present right thar.

It is, right? The overall shape is kinda cool I think. The one thing that looks pretty bad is the different sized screens - didn't look symmetrical on the regular 3DS, but here it's more pronounced, being right next to each other on a big empty plane. Could have used some grooves / shapes / other design tricks to mask it.

No. It's ugly, and besides, I already own a 3DS. Even though I rarely use the 3D effect, I would like to have the option on turning it on and off.

I can see these getting licensed for use at McDonald's playgrounds like the n64 was. I don't wan't one because the 2D. But it does look more comfortable ergonomically. One thing this proves is that nintendo can change the name and main features of it's hardware. Which could result in a remodeled Wii U with a different name aimed at a certain audience.
