Stylistically, of course plenty of games still look incredible. But even the best looking games make me cringe when I see all those jaggies. It's the sort of thing that was fine at the time, but looks terrible now that I'm used to HD. (2D games are the exception, as pixel art doesn't work quite the same way.)

For some reason, this isn't really a problem for me. Probably cos I sit a fair distance back  from the TV. (Don't like being too close, it feels cramped)

For example, I've been playing Metroid Prime 2 recently, and I can't ever remember thinking "ugh, those jaggies."

It was actually that game that made me start the thread; two of my friends were over, one of whom mostly plays Battlefield 3 and Dark Souls on PS3, and both remarked at how good Prime 2 looked.

Seriously, those games still look incredible!  I know it's been said a million times already, but they really need to release the trilogy in HD.  Partially because it would look awesome, but also for the Wind Waker reason--a new generation of kids who missed out on the Gamecube need a chance to play these games.  Prime 3 looked almost as good as some 360 games.

Ico gameplay doesn't feel dated in comparison to modern games IMO.

Yes, there are definitely games that still look really well from "way back when."

Many GameCube games look incredible still. I even think Mario Kart: Double Dash!! is one of the prettiest MK's out. Dragon Quest and Kingdom Hearts off of the PS2 are both still nice looking, as well. (I also really like many of the 2D Side-scrollers Ninty came out with. Especially Kirby!)

Gran Turismo 4 on the PS2 still looks pretty awesome.

Edit - Just found this video of GT4. This guy is amazing lol

Holy crap, I never knew the game looked that good. Those Vista's just look gorgeous, and the track detail rivals Forza for 360. Since GT6 is PD's second go around with PS3, I wonder how good that will look, since they've had the time to tweak the hardware.

For all the HD sharpness, complex shaders, and high-res textures of modern games, I still find that a great many older games are still visually appealing.

6th gen games like Metroid Prime 1 & 2, Odin's Sphere, God of War 1 & 2, and Conker Live and Reloaded still look fantastic to me with thanks to their attention to detail and aesthetic flair.

Hell, even Yoshi's Island way back on the SNES is still beautiful in my book. It might not be in 1080p or push hundreds of millions of polygons a second, but that crayon-and-pencil style hasn't aged a bit.

Do you also find some games from previous generations hold up visually today?

Odin sphere still has some bad pixels (and i'm talking about the ps3 version on 1080p display). But awesome graphics, for sure.
