Israel is not on my radar. I do not know if they sponsor terrorism. I do not care if they do or if they do not. I support the state of Israel but it needs to survive on its own and it may not be able to do that without taking out leaders of other terrorist or such organizations. I will say no more about Israel because I do not know.

I extend an apology to all Muslims that abhor terrorism and love freedom. I was not intending to group you with the scum that will strap bombs on their kids and send them over to "infidels" just to kill them. Can we all agree that practices like that are worthy of all our combined detest?

It's actually even worse. The premise in A says "all known codes come from a mind." Except we know that DNA is a code, and we don't know if it came from a mind. In other words, in order for A to be true, C must first be true. The premise assumes that the conclusion is true, which is the definition of faulty circular logic.

Anyway, I came to this thread pretty late, much like other epic debate threads on this forum.  They always seem to explode into 5+ pages before I find them.

You mention that all of those historical things were against the real teachings of Christ, but how are we do know that is the case. Historically, Christianity has been a hugely radical religion for a lot longer than it's been.....whatever you can call it today.

Explain to me how I can recognize your claim that the Church today is right, when the Church of days past would have said you were wrong, and also claimed to be speaking on behalf of God.

Wow... I've had a couple debates about religion both online and offline, but this one only seems to get more and more retard with each page that goes up.

Still, I will point out that Eomund does have a point, Christianity has its fair share of people who abuse its teachings, but the religion itself has a good base; love thy brother, forgiveness for sins, etc. So when you have people who are being dicks about it, it's because they aren't following their own religion properly.
But I do believe his statement about the muslim religion is fairly accurate. The religion itself calls for non muslims to be converted, enslaved or killed. So when people mention that they know muslims and that doesn't happen, basically those muslims aren't following their own religion properly.

So who will be next to continue the cycle of idiocy by pointing out some error in my thinking or accusing me of bigotry or ignorance while managing to be able to demonstrate those very same accusations?

Even though you don´t know about Israel you still support them?

Even though Israel supports terrorist just as much as the muslims you accused you still support them?

To me it seems you are failing not only in this thread and this aspect of this big mutter but you are failing as a Christian or a god beliving human being.

SuperDave, I have the Word of God backing me. I can not make it any more clear that what is in the Bible is the truth to all mankind. If the historical church was to stand on God's Word just as I am now, they would not have done those things. But hindsight is 20/20 as they say.

The Roman Catholic church did not teach the Bible like it is taught today. They kept people in the dark about the truth of the Word of God and spoke to them in a foreign language while reading the Bible, The Latin Vulgate translation. It was not until The Great Reformation of Martin Luther and his 95 Theses on the door of the Wittenburg Church that people started to learn the truth of God's word again in Europe. I cannot say what was happening elsewhere around the world because I do not know.

Finally when Johann Guttenburg invented the printing press the Bible could get out into the hands of the populace and read and understood. Many things are done in the name of God or a god, but you have to judge the action by God's Word. That is how I know that today the church has it right, vs Roman Catholics in the Dark Ages.

@Eomund, something else you might consider. I completely agree on the horrible nature of people who strap bombs to themselves and kill innocents. However, let me ask the question, is it also wrong to, through inaction, allow harm to come to someone that you could have helped. I think most people would say yes, if you can help someone and allow harm to come to them instead, assuming it would have been safe to do, then that's probably wrong, at least imo.

Alright, so take the above example, lay it against say, the lack of Universal Health Care in America. The wealthiest country in the world decides not to provide free health care to those who need it and as a result, many thousands of people die each year of preventable illnesses..........is this not also immoral?

I think they are just as wrong at it today as they were then.

Christianity is a gutter religion if they cannot and will not discipline and rebuke those who ferment terror and torture. George.W.Bush has allowed the torture of terror suspects - who are not formally charged - at Guantanamo bay and his war in Iraq has caused even more terror and pain for the Iraqi people than what existed under the rule of Hussein. 

I have yet to see the major churches rebuke him for his actions as a Christian, indeed his values are supported by the naturally conservative Christian churches.
