Forums - General - Evidence for the existence of God

I just want to say that it is impossible for the Wii to be successful, because there are only crappy party games for it and no developers know how to use the controls properly and casual gamers will only buy wii sports.

that proves that the wii will fail

Seppukuties is like LBP Lite, on crack. Play it already!

Currently wrapped up in: Half Life, Portal, and User Created Source Mods
Games I want: (Wii)Mario Kart, Okami, Bully, Conduit,  No More Heroes 2 (GC) Eternal Darkness, Killer7, (PS2) Ico, God of War1&2, Legacy of Kain: SR2&Defiance

My Prediction: Wii will be achieve 48% market share by the end of 2008, and will achieve 50% by the end of june of 09. Prediction Failed.

God has to exist, If he doesn't where will we be after we die?

Apparently, to Atheists, we cease to exist. Isn't that just an absolute depressing thought? To just completely disappear and die not fully realizing just how meaningless your life had been?

See how much of a downer that was? That's how Atheists view existence...as a momentary blink and thats it.

However, I prefer to turn to Dane Cook on how I feel about the whole "Atheist" view on life returning to the planet or whatever.

Here is the video Enjoy

Ask me how to turn a Rottweiler in to a Dodongo and I'll tell you the story of a lifetime.

I would just like to point out that the people in this argument claiming that because God doesn't help them or doesn't do it for them proves there is no God is sadly and utterly misinformed on exactly how it all works.

If God could just fix everything for you then what would be the point of faith and belief? Why would you even try to better yourself if God just put a band-aid over every mistake you ever made and said "ALL BETTER!" would he be a better God if he took the ability to feel pain away?

No.

God gave everyone free will and the freedom to choose in life how they will live it. This also includes making the decisions in life that might adversely effect other people in negative ways. God didn't give us half-way free will....he gave it too us completely and this also means that because of our ignorance to deal with the amount of freedom we have we must learn to turn to Him for guidance.

Does turning to God mean he will fix it though? No. If you ask for peace he will not just *poof* grant you peace. He may grant you the opportunity to be peaceful or grant you the opportunity to better yourself, but he wont do it for you.

Also, don't be pompous either. A lot of people today demand a lot of things from God and it surprises me a whole bunch that people think they can demand something from a being that is infinitly greater than themselves. Takes a lot of arrogance if you ask me.

So it takes a lot of arrogance to demand something from God, but making assumptions on "how it all works" regarding God (as you said earlier in your post) is just fine?

What kind of doublethink is this?

So if there is no God, when we die we'll just be seeing pitch black for all eternity

I for one love the fact that I have only one life, it means I strive to live my life to the fullest before I die.

We wont see anything, we will have no conscience.

Yeah I was thinking that. I also thought that if god gives us the oppiortunity to do things for ourself then how does that differ to if there is no god. Also I have the opportunity to go and kill 100 people right now, i wont, but has god diven me that opportunity?

OK enough religious talk, I'm officially leaving this thread for a while

I intend to look through the whole thread later, but for now:

1. Wrong (tautological: All things are A, therefore B is A, haha God did it.)
2. Don't be silly
3. Extra wrong
4. So, if you can't see little Marines in your PC while playing StarCraft, does that mean it's got "qualia" too?
5. d. The cause is another universe's science experiment
6. Super wrong (you're looking at it backwards)

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.
